You have a healthy lead in your division. One or two points doesn't matter even if you lose.
Chilton is now just 1.5 points back.

You are still in good shape though. Good luck.

Special Edition of the Bink Gazette

BINK GAZETTE July 18, 2008

It is a sad day in Baltimore. No one is certain, but it looks like the Binks boxing team may have folded before completing their inaugural season in the prestigious UTBA II. After absorbing an absolute thrashing from the Hebron Haymakers on July 4, giving them a woeful 1-6 record, Bink morale was at a low point.

This reporter went to the Bink gym and training facility the next week to see how the Binks were faring, and the doors to the facility were chained and padlocked! At first I thought this might be a prank committed by those dastardly Haymakers, but they were lucky to get out of town after their win and surely would not risk life and limb just to play a joke on the Binks.

Attempts to contact the owner, Mikehoudini, have been futile. The same can be said regarding Mack Lewis and team captain Hasim Rahman, and no one has been seen entering or leaving the building since. Perhaps there were money woes, or the team simply disbanded because of low morale? Perhaps they were sucked up by some black hole? No one knows where the Binks are, but they aren’t in their gym training for their upcoming fight with the St. Louis Sluggers. Even the ring card girls, Amina Sade and her friends, haven’t a clue as to their whereabouts.

We contacted the league commish, Sal, and he was perplexed at the possible news, not having heard anything from the Binks regarding a potential withdrawal from the league. We asked Sal if a team had ever dropped out in mid season before, and he replied in the negative. Then we asked him what he’d do if in fact it happens now.

“That’s a good question. There are only 3 weeks, less than that, actually, left in the season. The Binks were scheduled to meet all their intra-divisional rivals, all of whom were, pardon the expression and the brutal honesty, licking their chops at the prospect of fattening up their records and improving their playoff chances.

“If the Binks do forfeit, I’ll have to figure out some equitable way to allocate points. This could be a real conundrum! Do I give them 3 ½ points per fight, treating them as knockouts? Maybe I’ll just allocate points, 60 each to the Sluggers and Bears Unstable, and 20 to the Diggstown Ringers! Hmm, I’ll have to sequester myself and figure out the proper point allocations!”

We left Sal to give him time to think about this possible dimemma, and will keep the readers abreast of any updates, of any Bink sightings! Hopefully the mystery will be cleared up. We doubt anyone, certainly not their divisional rivals, would kidnap them, but who knows? One can only hope that the Binks have not met their demise!

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the Binks, please contact us here at the Gazette! We’ll sign off this special addition by saying “Bink Fever! We hope someone else will catch it! They’ll only wish they died!”

Rumors heard in Hartford indicate that Ms. Bankhead may have found Boots Monroe stowed away in her steamer trunk.

I hope that helps.

It's just hard to get used to Chilton being 1.5 points in back of anything

OK..........back to week 8. You'll see the dates of July 15 on the results because that is when I actually ran the bouts. I'm just now getting around to writing them up and posting them.

Just a note if anyone is interested.......the fishing in my parts has been fantastic the last 5 days. Kinda makes you wonder where I've been.

I managed to round up the Binks off the streets in Baltimore and here and there and get them to St. Louis in time for their match with the Sluggers. Man, they looked pissed. Still uncertain as to their future though.

Yeah, the Binks have been found. Nice win. Some big scores thus far. Hoping my Left Jab boys can make it two in a row and tighten up the division a bit. I have the tough, tough Dusk Owls(love that name)squad. Peace.

Fortunately, Sal didn't have to make a decision, as the Binks showed up, and then some! But where were they?

The Binks only hoped Boots would be her stowaway! But he did come back against the Sluggers! The true story of the Binks' disappearance will be coming out soon!
