OK. One history completed yesterday. I had to restart the other early this morning, and it's nearly complete now. Some team histories aren't up yet. They should be finished by noon Eastern or so.
ACTIVE NABA LEAGUE WITH 2 EXPANSION TEAMS, FULL FACEGEN, 1976-2006 TEST NABA LEAGUE, NO FACEGEN, 2088-2177 The first league above is great for getting the feel of the league, teams, uniforms, and the current stars if you choose to keep the existing players and history. The second is best for long-term stats checking. |

I really love the HR leader board of the 90-season league:

I definitely want to use these settings in my league. I'm in 1913 and going to sim all the way to 2008 and take over an expansion team. I'm also doing expanding and what not along the way which I have all mapped out on paper. I am importing the league total modifiers automatically each year so my totals can somewhat reflect real life history. I was thinking about using these settings starting in like 1960 or maybe 1970....I also had a thought of kicking these settings in after the first year that I see one of my players hit 50+ HRs. What do you guys think would be the best time to implement these settings?

Skydog,
I would like to use this but I would like to start the league from scratch without any previous history. Is there a way to do this? |

Run per usual. Under League options find the button that says "Erase entire league history". Click said button. Woila!!

SkyDog,
Can you release just a template for just your modifiers and RonCo's? I want to incorporate those into my new fictional universe. Thanks! - manooly |

Great work skydog and Ronco
![]() Quick question though, what exactly do the AI weights (Towards ratings, current stats, previous stats etc) effect? Basically, does changing those affect the league totals/mess up my stats? I'm wondering because I do like to have some weight on previous year and 2 year stats, because if a player had a monster season 2 years ago or last year, but stinks this year (And his ratings have dropped), in real life some teams still will keep putting him out there expecting a bounce back and so on. 2. The problem with that is that it makes the game easier (if you're using ratings). I look more at ratings in making my roster/lineup decisions, because I know that performance follows ratings. If a guy who had an .850 OPS last year for me had a big ratings drop-off, I'm using someone else. I want the AI teams not to be at a competitive disadvantage due to sticking with guys that I never would stick with. |

I'm having a problem. It downloads fine, but will not load. It copies all the folders, etc when it starts, but then when it starts initializing, I get:
DATABASE::load_database - could not load world file A little help? |

SkyDog, thanks for the QS...it's fantastic.
I have a question regarding coaching personnel. I notice that in game setup, the QS begins with the Complete Coaching System disabled. I've checked the box to activate that option but none of the teams have any managers or coaches. Is there a way to begin this QS with the coaching enabled? If possible, I'd like to begin with the teams having coaching staff. I'm new to OOTP and am having a tough time figuring out whether this is possible. If you or someone else knows how to get this accomplished, I'd be forever grateful. Thanks! |

How do draft pools like this not drive you insane? I can't understand why more people aren't outraged by this issue.

I've never seen anything like that. I have a good star distribution. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong there...

This is a fairly normal draft for me, sadly. I've observed hundreds of drafts with historical and fictional leagues. It's very rare to see a good SP prospect to last 10 picks into the first round. I know there's a few decent 20/20's, but how would you feel drafting them first or even second round? Building or re-building a team is incredibly frustrating like this. The SS was just your league, with 20-80 instead of stars.

I see a very wide variety of starting pitchers, and have had some success several rounds in. If it's such a big deal to you, I'd suggest filing a report in the support forum. Sounds like just another reason not to use 20-80 to me though. *shurg*

How would using stars instead of the 20-80 system change anything? Won't all those 20's simply be 1 or even half stars instead of a bunch of 21's and 20's?

I turn stars and 20-80 system off, makes it more challenging IMO.

I would never consider playing with 20-80, so I don't particularly care, but I recall several comments about some scouting-related stuff that simply doesn't work right with 20-80.

20/80 to Stars seems like a straight forward conversion to me, but I ran a few years of NABA from scratch just to see. I rounded .5 stars up. I also noted Catchers, because it's a clean comparison (since it's rare to have infielders or outfielders with decent catching ratings).
2001 SP 3 (2 Star)- 3 (3 Star)- 1 (4 Star)- 2 (5 Star) C 1-1-1-3 2002 SP 3-1-0-5 C 2-3-1-2 2003 SP 4-1-0-3 C 1-0-1-1 2004 SP 2-1-0-3 C 4-1-0-1 2005 SP 5-2-0-6 C 1-1-1-2 2006 SP 7-4-0-5 C 1-1-0-1 2007 SP 5-3-1-3 C 0-1-2-3 2008 SP 4-1-0-8 C 2-0-0-3 2009 SP 8-3-0-6 C 2-2-0-0 2010 SP 3-1-1-4 C 0-1-0-5 2011 SP 8-4-0-1 C 2-0-1-1 2012 SP 1-1-0-1 C 2-1-1-2 Granted, it's only 12 seasons, but the average number of 3.5+ Star SP's created per season is 4.1, compared 2.6 Catchers. The dry years are especially depressing, but even the strong years don't leave good starters into the second round. As for the distribution, 53/25/3/47, I can't say I like that either. |
