BZ 1693: Autoplay stops--illegal number of players
I created a template for the world that I am working on. Then I generated a new league from the template in order to test my settings, ratings, etc.
When I tried to autoplay the league, however, I received an error message: "Attention! "Belle Chasse has an illegal number of players on the active roster! (0)" There is no team named Belle Chasse in my world. But I cannot autoplay any games. Solution?

Can you upload the files in your league as per the instructions in "How to FTP your files to us" thread that is stickied in here.
I think this is caused by the teams that get created and dumped whenever you change the league structure at creation time. I've asked a few times in suggestions that the teams should only get stored in the database at the moment Start Game is clicked rather than whenever the structure is changed during initial setup.

I have uploaded my original, master league "National Pastime." Here I am getting the error message that Los Angeles has an illegal number of players (0). In my original Pacific Coast League, I had a team called the Los Angeles Angels. However, I deleted this team, imported a historical team, and renamed it the Los Angeles Angels. I suspect it is the original "inactive" L.A. Angels team that is causing the problem. But I can find neither a solution nor a work-around. My .dat files are slugged with my user name. Thanks for any help. Is this a recurrent bug?

I had this problem awhile back - see thread. I don't know if it worked for the OP in this thread but you can try what worked for me.

This must be a bug that will be fixed presently. Thanks for the good advice, anyway.

Hmmm... are you already past the point of being able to delete the league (like you say, which releases all players) and then delete all free agents? Are there players in your free agent pool that you would want to keep?

If you export the rosters and delete the free agents on the spreadsheet and then re-import the rosters, you'll find that the free agents are still there--as if they have never gone away!

There's a "Delete all Free Agents" button located under "Name of your League" / Free Agents. I wouldn't want you to screw up your league but I think this might work for you. I just tested it on a dummy league. I had 392 free agents in there and that button wiped them all out. I don't know if there's a difference with imported rosters, but I'd imagine it would work.
Oops... just saw that you found it. Good luck!

Received the same error message as in my first post above: "Attention! "Belle Chasse has an illegal number of players on the active roster! (0)" As before, there is no team named Belle Chasse in my world. Tony, I am going to upload the league files again via FTP. Slugged as before. The new files should overwrite the old on the OOTP server.

The server obliged me to rename the .zip; I added _2 to its name. You can junk the first set of files. Thanks for any help you can give me!

David,
I checked the files, and in the Dixie League there are games scheduled for Belle Chasse. It looks like you forgot to create a new schedule for that league when you changed its configuration. There is nothing I can do about this, so you'll need to go to the schedule editor and delete those games manually.

Same problem
I'm on V. 9.16.
I'm playing as Chicago Cubs. St. Louis A club is Newark. I can't play as Newark has incorrect no. of players [0]. Newark has 26 players. It's the second year of a historical league using full minor league rosters through Rookie ball. Any progress on this issue? |
