To an outsider of Washington DC , I had the impression Joe might retire. I can't say the game has passed him by completely, but, the fire to do it really dimmed this season, and with number 21 dying unexpectedly, and family health issues, this was not totally unexpected IMO. I love Gibbs, but, I felt the fire left in the last 12 months, and he just couldn't get it back. Hate to see him leave, quality guy and coach. He will be missed. A lot of coaching opportunities this offseason.. wow.

Any speculation on who the Redskins like for a coach?
Think Cowher would do it?

Belichick wasn't that good in Cleveland.

It was a semi-secret part of the deal to get Williams here that he would be offered the job once Gibbs left.

Wow, if you're going to do comparisons, just go right for the throat right?
At least BB had a playoff year with Cleveland.

Honestly though, who's been good in Buffalo since Marv Levy left?
It's too bad that he stepped down. I'm a fan of him in both sports he's been a part of. This season must have been too much for him. |

Al Saunders?
Miami Marty or Mike Martz or Brian B. or Don Capers or Jim Fassel or Steve M. or Dan Marino or Troy Aikman or Dennis Erickson or Dennis Green or Jason Garrett Atlanta I would have said June Jones but he went to SMU because the Falcons use to have Jude Jones as Coach.
