FaceGen

I'm just wondering. I know when the game first came out, some people had trouble seeing facegen on their computer. I'm wondering if that was resolved with later patches? Any help would be great, thanks!

I never had the FaceGen issues, but it is listed as a resolved issue in the 3rd patch, available for PC on Tuesday.

It was. I had one of the older integrated Intel chipsets, and I now get perfect facegen pictures.

Yeah, I'm having some facegen issues? I've got weird facial hair and stuff like that. I downloaded the latest patch. What's the problem?

The new patch fixed my facegen problems. Have you regenerated the faces since you patched the game? If not the black triangles will still be there from the old version.

Yes, I had the game regenerate everyone's face, caps, etc. It's still showing the triangles and dots. This is pretty frustrating.

Anyone? I kinda really can't enjoy the game without this. Is there a way to just turn facegen off, because it's decently annoying.

Go to Game Preferences on the Main Screen or click Game, OOTP Preferences from within the game. You will see the option to disable FaceGen, but you have to quit and restart the game for it to take effect.

You may also note that there is a mode selection for FaceGen: Standard or Troubleshooting. I don't know how troubleshooting works, but I believe it is designed to allow Tech Support folks to walk you through analysis and fix, if possible. This is what the manual says about that setting:

Quote:
Switches between “standard” and “troubleshooting” FaceGen modes. Most players should leave this setting on standard. However, when troubleshooting FaceGen issues, technical support may ask you to change this to Troubleshooting mode, which uses a hidden window for rendering instead of pixel buffers.
I don't know what that means, but it seems to indicate some hope of a resolution if you contact Tech Support.
