NGBL: 3 Openings (NYN, ATL, NYA)
Established in August 2002, the NGBL is quickly approaching it's 5 year anniversary. We're in the midst of converting from OOTP 6.12 to OOTP2007, and have lost a few of our owners during the process.
With traditional Free Agency about to start (still in 6.12), the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves are available. The Mets, just one season removed from a World Series Championionship, retain most of their core players, and look to be players in the NL East. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the Yankees or Braves, who are both teams in between comepte and rebuild -- so a new owner would be able to come right in and put their stamp on the team. We'll continue the offseason in OOTP 6.12, and will convert to OOTP2007 for opening day. The league is famous for it's website, but we've got a good group of owners who are serious about baseball. Check us out! About the League The "Next Generation Baseball League" (NGBL) was formed under the concept of owners picking current teams and then simulating 10 years into the future to give the league a fictional feel, yet also preserving the MLB roots. Over FOUR real calendar years and 19 seasons have now passed since the inception of the league and the fictional players are in full swing giving the league it's own unique personality. We have since re-established the Wildcard, and continue to make changes to improve the league. League Features: - League established August, 2002 - Currently Running OOTP 6.12, converting to OOTP2007 - Heavily customized website (http://nexgenbaseball.com) that takes BOSI v2x to the extreme - Marketing revenue split equally among the leagues 28 teams - Coaches / Scouts turned to OFF. - RFA: All players 3.0 stars or greater with minimal loyalty (4.5 stars for MRs) will be exposed to a "restricted free agency" type process. These players will be exposed to open bidding, but the current team will also be given a chance to match the winning contract. For anyone tired of leagues that don't have elite players hitting the market should find this very appealing. - Australian Fall League (AFL): This league gives teams a chance to send their prospects to play baseball in the fall. Teams are eligible to earn points to help "fill out" their player's ratings. Please contact me on these boards, or join the NGBL Forums if you're interested. -paul |
