Some kids here were playing cricket just outside a few hours ago. Right around where I live you don't see kids playing baseball at all, it's all cricket.

They've got a two-day trial you can download.

I kinda prefer word of mouth to actual experience.

Well, think of it from my perspective. Who am I gonna believe: a bunch of die-hard cricket fans who have been giving this a solid going-over for about a year, or me, a guy who doesn't much of anything about cricket (it's the one with the tea, right?) who can only mess around with the game for two days, much of which would probably be getting used to the layout?

Then I'd suggest you do as I did and learn a bit about the game, so the two days you have aren't filled with learning mundane details about cricket.

I'm a die-hard cricket fan.
It was bloody awful. If you want a cricket game, get International Cricket Captain. (For OOTP style gaming). I played that to death. |

Digging up a pretty old topic here but thought those that tried the original Cricket Coach might like to try out the sequel (which was released last Friday).
You can download a free trial from www.cricketcoachgame.com - we've had some very favourable reviews from the various fansites out there this time

Right on! Any chance we'll be seeing a capybara simulation in the near future, Glenn?

Silly Mid-On is like standing third base one arm length from the hitter. Verry silly. Anyway, Silly Mid-On, Point, Third Man, Sweeper, Silly Mid-Off, Leg-Slip. Ball deliveries like "Medium pace in swinging yorker", a "googly" , a "wrong'un" and most importantly A GAME THAT LASTS FIVE DAYS AND CAN END IN A DRAW!!! And you think that baseball games go on too long. And lets clarify this, games end in a draw as often as say, Wakefiled chucks a wild pitch. On a windy day.

20/20 cricket is cool (basically it lasts as long as a baseball game, and the chance of a tie is pretty damn slim (although it has happened). Test matches get a little boring.

I've started paying attention to cricket again lately and find myself in the market for a decent cricket game in the style of OOTP etc...
My wife watched a bit the other night of some highlights I downloaded. "This looks like a very strange sport." She said. "It is... I don't understand it, and I used to play it!" Edit: Erm... The game has been pulled. You can't buy it! Last edited by Bonedwarf; 07-06-2007 at 09:15 PM. |
