Team I cannot find with not enough players

So, I go to sim a week and I get the the message "Gloucester City has an illegal number of player on the roster (7)" and it will not let me continue...now I have alot of leagues in this particular sim...the majors , all the minor leagues, a good number of college conferences, and a 50 team HS league....I went through each one of them 3 or 4 times looking for this Gloucester City, and it doesn't exist as far as I can tell....anyone else ever encounter this and if so how were you able to fix it, if you were at all.

Thanks
Brian

First thing to try would be to search for Gloucester City in the search field, top right. If there's a team with that name, it will be found, listed at the bottom of the search results screen. In any event, you might try turning on ghost players, in League Setup, which in theory should allow minor league teams to play even if their rosters are incomplete. There is also a function in Game --> Game Setup --> League Setup to 'Fill teams with fictional players', which will fill in any empty roster slots with newly generated players. However, I think you have to choose the team's league first, and if you can't tell what league the team is supposed to be in, that's tricky. Did you delete a league at any point?

I've read about other people having this problem in the recent past, so you might also find more info by searching the forum. Good luck.

I recommend trying "Run Computer Manager on All Teams" in League Setup-->Functions before turning on ghost players or filling teams with fictional players. Sometimes it works...

This is the key question. I suspect that team no longer exists, but did once. If it isn't, this should be an especially high priority to be examined for the next patch. The AI manage workaround mentioned above has allowed some people to overcome the hurdle, while others have had no luck with it. It's certainly not common, but certainly not unheard of either. The AI 'should' manage the team and correct the inaccuracy, but if there really is no team, I don't know what it's supposed to do!

I don't know how far you are into the league, but you might search the Mod forums for Anderson's Purge program. It's possible deleting all references to it may assist you somehow. I'm sorry you're having this difficulty and good luck finding a way around it.

I had the same problem and enabling ghost players did the trick. It often happens when you have an expansion team.

Would I be right in thinking you can't bring back a league that you have deleted from within the game?

If so, it might be worthwhile writing something to purge worlds.dat and teams.dat of these hidden teams that just sit there doing nothing... Off to ponder whether I should do that because it's circumventing the game interface.

well hell....the game froze when I was messin around tryin to fix it and I have to ctrl alt del out of it...now I can't even load up the league. It will go through everything like it is tryin to load it then it gets to finalizing and just sits there for ever till it finally says the game is not responding....I put alot of work into the league and hope it's not lost, but it's not looking too promising at this point....anyone have any ideas on my most recent issue?
