I have nothing particular to add to this thread today, another than an obligatory: COME ON THE REDS!
Racking my brain trying to remember the exact things I did 2 years ago in order to recreate them. Going to watch it in the same place (but not the exact same people - eesh). Going to wear the same t-shirt (but not the same jeans). I was toying with going on the lagers tonight, but memory tells me I stuck to the grape last time. I'm horrified to think that Liverpool could lose because I don't use the toilet at the right time, or don't sit in the right seat. Could happen.

Mascherano. The rules state you are not allowed to acquire a player who has already played for two different teams that season. UEFA did everything they could to help

My prediction:
If Liverpool is ahead or tied at the half they win; if not its the corrupt Italian cheaters winning which will be a black eye for the sport. |

The team Liverpool start with is there to keep them in it, the team that is out there for the last 20-30 minutes is there to win it.

This is the third time that the Olympic Stadium in Athens has hosted the European Cup Final and all three have involved Italian clubs.
In 1983 Hamburg beat Juventus 1-0, whilst in 1994 AC Milan defeated Barcelona 4-0. A win for AC Milan would be their seventh European crown, for Liverpool it would be their sixth. Real Madrid are the only ones with more than either of these two teams with nine. Whilst AC Milan were drawn the home team, Liverpool are the designated home team and will wear the red shirts, with Milan wearing their changed strip of white. |

There it is, then. Milan win 2-1.
Maybe some Liverpool fans will say that they were unlucky. That Liverpool had the majority of possession, the most shots, corners etc. While the facts may be true, it's a delight of football that it defies basic statistics. In short, Milan deserved to win. Sure, their first goal was a massive fluke, but Liverpool's goal looked well offside (I haven't seen many replays). Weigh in the fact that Milan's luck at that time caused a required shift in L'Pool's tactics which contributed towards Milan's second goal, and you could make a case that the luck favoured the Milanese. But Liverpool did not deserve to win that game. Sure, they had a lot of attacking possession, but what did they do with it? Bugger all. Pennant and Zenden are simply decent wingers. To have that much possession, and that much space in attacking parts of the field, and to create very few clear goal chances speaks to a lack of quality. Too often did crosses go to a Milan head, to the near post defender, or to no-one at all. Of course, this was also an inevitable result of Liverpool playing a cautious formation with one striker and 2 defensive midfielders - the result being very few Red bodies present in the box when crosses came in. These are the areas (attacking wide) that need to be addressed by Rafa in the centre. Pains me to say that Milan deserved to win. Milan - and Italian - football fans are animals. And I do not say this from blind xenophobia, but from personal experience. I'd rather lose to Arsenal.

First NSW lose in the State of Origin, then waking up to watch what turned out to be a poor game(not just because of the result). I congratulate Kaka on his wonderful fall to earn the free kick just outside the box(bitter) but agree with EdR...we didnt do enough to win.....period.
