Wow - Now I Can Do What I Want
I have just purchased my first version of OOTP. I have been playing Baseball Mogul and Strat-O-Matic for quite a while and have heard that OOTP was very daunting and difficult to learn. After a couple of days playing the game and an hour watching the videos I was able to start my first fictional league. The options and flexibility of all of the set up within the game makes this a game that can be played over and over I'm sure. At first I thought that a game that didn't have the same licensing as Sports Mogul and Strat O Matic must be a second rate product. I was happily proven wrong.
![]() I will always play the other games, but I think that OOTP will consume a lot of my game playing time over the spring and summer. I have created a fictional Canadian Baseball League and am wondering if anyone has created any mods for Canadian Baseball. If you are willing to part with some of these mods please let me know. |

JT48FISH, you have just stepped into a whole new world. You are going to be hooked very soon, if not already!

Hey Fish:
It's not a mod, but I started a Canadian League dynasty. As you say, you can pretty much do what you want here. I'm also (non-dynasty) playing a 1901 game and it...hm....feels right compared to BM. As you say it can be more complex, but you can also turn off a lot of that complexity until you're ready for it. For your league, if you want to use real ballparks check www.ootpmodsquad.com. One of the files has ratings for the Northern League and Can-Am Parks, as well as Hamilton's Berne Arbour and others. There are also plenty of logos to be had in the Mods area of this forum, and people willing to help design custom ones for you. That's eye candy of course. I suspect with a little tweaking (don't be afraid to play with the menus in Commish mode) you should be able to build the league you want. Welcome and good luck! |
