Silly questions

Long time forum reader, first time poster. First of all...kudos to the OOTP team. I have enjoyed what I have seen from the game for the first time ever...(never been a big text only fan though I own the last 3 versions of OOTP).

Having some graphics type issues which I cannot seem to figure out. I have tried to plunk through the 500 page bible of OOTP

(which I will be printing out when I get off work today) and can't seem to find the answers.

I want to add name appropiate custom logos to my minor leagues. I build the league through the league wizard (wonderful tool). Name my major league teams. Get to the end of the wizard. I then go back into game setup/Names & Affiliations. Rename my minor league teams to my desired choices.

Close the game. Saving it. Open the correct file under my documents (all the way to the images folder) drop all my logos. Here is the problem. My "major league" logos work fine....as the teams match the named logos. My minor league logos do not work. What I am seeing is the "original" names in the images folder and not what I renamed the logos to. Is there anyway around this?

I'd like to change the caps to "secondary" logos...haven't been able to figure that out yet...same with the primary team colors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OOTP7 has changed where store custom team logos. Instead of going into the savegame folder, there are global folders where you put your custom graphics.

The Path is

Code:

C:\Documents and Settings\{your user}\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\logos

\data\ballcaps is used for hat logos and \data\jerseys is used for uniforms.

All filenames have the format cityname_nickname_[color1]_[color2]_[color3]. Caps add the prefix caps_logo_ to that, jerseys add the prefix jerseys_logo_

For instance, a team in my league, the Kokomo Knights, has these three files:

Kokomo_Knights_050065110_120170230.png in the \logos folder
caps_logo_Kokomo_Knights_050065110_050065110.png int the \ballcaps folder
jerseys_logo_Kokomo_Knights_245245245_120170230_01 0025070.png in the \jerseys folder.

Six-hex-digit colors work, too. I could sub F5F5F5 for 245245245 above if I wanted.

Where do you locate this number from...assuming its a digital address?

From reading the readme...it appears that the game searches the league folder.lg/news/html/images first. Then it goes to data/team_logos. If that is the case do I need to delete all the game generated logos in the save file?

I never have.

The numbers are color designations based on the standard redd-green-blue 0-255 (or 00-FF) sequence. So 050065110 would assign the value 50 to the red channel, 65 to the green channel, and 110 to the blue channel.

Note: each color must be 9 (or 6) digits long. Lead and trailing zeros are required.

okay I will dink around with it a bit. I still cant get the correct logos to appear for the minor league teams..but in the grand scheme of things thats not a big deal to me.

Glad you're finding some advice and answers to your questions. Like with all new programs, a little trial-and-error time with it often solves the problems. The best thing about this game is the number of helpful players who can so quickly respond to a fellow player's needs.

Also welcome to the boards ! All my minor league logos are in C:\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\your league name.lg\news\html\images folder and they all appear in the game.
Put your custom made logo in this folder at 150 x 150 size. The logo name must read as Toledo_Mudhens for example. Go to your Toledo Mudhens home page and select Options and ball parks and click edit team colors,logos and uniforms. On the Team Logo select load Follow the path to where your logo is stored and click on it and select load. Your logo is now in the game. Hope that helps buddy !
