Talking DirectX 9.0 to correct visual quirks.

I cannot stress this enough. Download DirectX 9.0 and all the visual quirks go away in an instant. The game now looks fantastic!

Thumbs up

I have a older computer running Windows 98 second edtion. 233mz & 42.5 Ram (odd ram I know.) OOTP v4 works fine, but in v5 all the lettering is broken up to the point of being unreadable. (tax return, ..new computer hopefully..hehe)
I'll try the DirectX 9.0 update and if that works I'll edit the post. It may save others with older systems some frustration. (on a limited income a better comp. not always a option for us all, but this game just to good to miss.)

Thank you..jimohagan, Steve & JimiP

OK!! Changed my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 from 800 x 600 . Also updating to DirectX 9.0 from 8.1 will help.

So for others with this problem, (text broken up) at least in my case with a older & slower computer it was the anwser. When I am not in the OOTP5 game, then just reset your settings back to your original choice for normal use. Only takes a few seconds.

Broken text problem cure.

OK!! Changed my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 from 800 x 600 . Also updating to DirectX 9.0 from 8.1 will help.

So for others with this problem, (text broken up) at least in my case with a older & slower computer it was the anwser. When I am not in the OOTP5 game, just go to Control Panel, then click on display, reset your settings back to your original choice for normal use. Only takes a few seconds.

You may also have to disable 3D.

Hope the helps.
