Warne, McGrath to retire. (CRICKET)

Quote:
Shane Warne will announce this week that he is to retire at the end of the current Ashes series, Australia's Channel Nine reported. The television station, which has used Warne as a part-time commentator in the past, also said Glenn McGrath would quit the game after the fifth Test at Sydney starting on January 2.

The report said Warne, Test cricket's leading wicket taker, would hold a press conference on Thursday to announce his career is ending after the Sydney Test. Warne, 37, hinted at retirement after Australia crushed England at Perth's WACA ground to reclaim the Ashes after last year's shock loss.

"These are the things you're going to miss," he said as the WACA crowd and team-mates celebrated the win. "I'm closer to the end than the bloody start." Warne has 699 Test wickets and is set to pass the 700 mark before his home crowd at the MCG in the fourth Test beginning December 26.

And yet their chief executive says he won't get rid of Les Reed. Well they are going down in that case then. He is not a manager, he never has been before, and he's not good enough. He must be about 55 so if he hasn't managed before now, it's cause he's not a manager!
Some of these clubs seem to use blind faith when they're picking managers, he's just not good enough.

They lose 5-1 to Tottenham, 3-0 to Liverpool in a game that Alan Hansen said was the most one-sided game he's ever seen, and now to a League Two side.

If Peter Varney wants to keep him that's fine, but they may as well get out the road map for their trips to Colchester, Barnsley, and Burnley in 2007-08, because that is where they are going. They are doomed for relegation.
TotalBet has up and coming football manager Paul Morris a 7-5 choice to be new manager of Charlton.

I never mentioned it, and I don't know if you already know, but Iraq lost 1-0 to Qatar in the final.

Ally McCoist said that Morris certainly wouldnt be worse than Charlton has now and he might even be an improvement.

I watched the game live and it was only down to the Liverpool fowards specially Bellend getting caught offside so much that the score wasn't 10-0

If you dont have quality players, not even Jesus himself could get results. There must be deeper problems in Charlton.

There aren't that many good managers around specially if your Charlton, most of the best managers below Charlton are managers of Championship teams who have a chance of promotion or division 1 & 2 teams who could get promoted, Charlton at this moment are a mid table Championship team who are in the premiership. Curbishley knew what he was doing when he jumped ship.

Well the chief executive said they wouldn't get rid of him whatever the results, last night, so I don't know what's going on there.

Theyd look stupid though thats why, two managers in a month. They should never have sacked Dowie least he would have had a better chance bringing some better players in the transfer window rather than Reed.

Can blame that on injuries and what he's done for Arsenal he at least deserves one bad season, Arsenal's standards anyway.

Benitez is the same. They'd only scored one goal away from home in their opening seven league games, and that was a very dodgy penalty award on the opening day at Sheffield United.

Wh..wh..what??? Is it because they lack class in the mid field or is it bad tactics?

Bad forwards only decent one they have is Kuyt, Crouch is well CRAP and bellamy gets caught offside way to many times for a player with his speed.

IMO they are already stupid for saying that he'll stay whatever. Especially after what happened just after that vote of confidence.
At least all the other teams will have one less team to worry about I guess.
