Unique league seeks 2 owners
I'm a long-standing commish (four real life years- since ootp4) looking for a few owners for my league. Everyone who's been in my leagues knows that I run a very tight ship-- I sim like clockwork, and if I'm about to miss something, you know ahead of time. Also, you may or may not recognize some of the owners in here, but they are the most knowledgable guys I've run into in the 6 leagues I've been in over the years--- the cream of the crop, so to speak. Finally, I've set up the rules for FA to be vibrant, and for the league to be damn competitive.
I feel CPL is unique for a few reasons: 1. People regularly write good articles, not just press releases. In addition, I've started providing summaries of every sim- the major moves, injuries, and happenings. 2. We are a fictional league, but I simmed over 100 years of history. That means we have meaningful historical comparisons, great arguements about the HOF, etc. despite only having been in existence for 7 seasons. 3. We sim a small number of games, but we sim every weekday. You don't have to stay on top of your team every single day of the week, but if you're a control freak, you can. 4. We have a fixed finances system. You make 70 million bucks a year, no matter what. You can only spend 70 million bucks a year, no matter what. And you can't accumulate any cash. 5. You can only resign guys who want to resign with your team. Combined with 4 above, this means that it's really hard to have a dynasty, and it's comparatively easy to rebuild, because FA is vibrant. It also means no one really tanks. This itself is highly unusual for a veteran league. 6. I don't own a team to be able to spend more time on the league. Should there be vacant teams though, I take over, so there's no 'dead' teams floating around. I have a very quick boot for owners that I see as being lazy or bad, and as a result, the current owners are all top notch. But it also means I tend to have more openings than other leagues do. If interested, please send your email addy, AIM name, a reference (e.g. a league that you're in), and team preference to sh.misra@gmail.com. We'll be starting the offseason after Thanksgiving, so this would be a really good time to jump in! This is a great league, with a great group of GMs. Due to the salary restrictions, you always see a great group of free agents, we will see 6-10 players who are 4 gold stars or better this offseason many of which are just entering their prime. So regardless of your teams situation, rebuilding or trying to win trading is always active, as teams winning need to lose some salary, so we want to trade and rebuilding teams are looking for prospects, so many times you get prospects for free which makes rebuilding even easier.
Look over the league, and if you have any questions feel free to ask Doug or myself or any of the members of the league. We also have a great website. my AIM: rjplanetnamek |

The Cubs have been taken. Baltimore still open, and I'd love to find owners for the Yanks, Giants and Braves if I could--- I'd happily boot all three of them right now.

Just curious because I've never seen this before in OOTP, but how can a team have negative attendance? (Noticed this while checking Baltimore's financial report).

In order to enforce the '70 million fixed income', I have the TV contracts set to 70 million total, and then I set stadium capacities to zero. This results in negative attendance, cuz it's really hard to 'sell out', even when your park has zero seats....

Yeah--- I'm not messing around with who stays and who goes. In my experience, the longer you keep dead wood around, the greater risk you run of waking up one day and having half your league asleep at the wheel. Not here
![]() And, btw, Baltimore is now taken... meaning Giants, Braves and Yanks remain open.
