Mac instructions, please
I bought the mac version about two weeks ago, have been loving it. This morning, lo and behold comes the news of a patch. OK great. I download it, install it and now everything's gone wacky.
Could someone please give me simple, step by step instructions on what I'm supposed to do next? In particular, if you're going to tell me to copy my eSellerate file, PLEASE tell me EXACTLY where to paste it when the time comes. I have a 1.0.3 version on my computer that even opens my old saved game, but I can't play it because it thinks I need to purchase it again. How do I outwit it? |

I have also encountered the same problem when downloading the 1.0.3 patch and was wondering how to remedy it. Step by step intsructions would be greatly appreciated by me as well.

Before re-installing or updating.
Copie the file ootp2006_eSellerate_key from OOTP Baseball 2006/data/config. For added security, move folders saved_games, quickstart_games, World templates to another location ex. Desktop. Install or patch. If you patch be sure to select the folder where the game actually is. The installer doesn't always select the right location. After installation. Move the file ootp2006_eSellerate_key into OOTP Baseball 2006/data/config. then move the folders saved_games, quickstart_games, World templates back into folder OOTP Baseball 2006/data/. Start the game. |

not quite
Well, that worked better than other attempts I have made. At least this time I didn't get the eSellerate screen. Instead it went directly to the black screen that must be force quit from.
Any other ideas out there? I'm getting close to paying for a new game.....and hoping maybe to convince SI to reimburse me.... |

I also had problem with the 1.0.3 patch on my laptop. Best thing is to download the newest complete version (Demo) and re-install.
Copie the file ootp2006_eSellerate_key from OOTP Baseball 2006/data/config. move folders saved_games, quickstart_games, World templates and Database if you did any change to another location ex. Desktop. Erase OOTP Baseball 2006 folder Re-Install. After installation. Move the file ootp2006_eSellerate_key into OOTP Baseball 2006/data/config. Then move the folders saved_games, quickstart_games, World templates back into folder OOTP Baseball 2006/data/. Start the game. |

I realize this isn't helpful, but this may not be a generic Mac issue. I've updated my version three times since my original demo download, and each of them worked fine. Not that there weren't in-game glitches, but the updates work automatically, and it's never crashed once, even back in 1.01.
I'm wondering if the problem is with the newer Intel Macs? I have a four year old eMac that theoretically isn't even supposed to be fast enough to run the game in the first place. |

(and I have an Intel Mac, btw... a MacBook) (edited to add: and then the only problem was that I was trying to run the patched version from an OOTP folder that had only the patched OOTP files in it. All I had to do to get things working was delete that new patched folder and reinstall the patch on the full OOTP folder... no messing around with eSellerate files.) I have solved the problem...you need to mkae sure the file path is correct in that it goes into the OOTP folder, as it is now, it looks as though it is, but it isn't you must click on it so that you see the files and folders inside OOTP, and then install the patch. It worked for me.
