Charity Wiffle Ball Tourney in Central Massachusetts

There will be a charity Wiffle Ball tournament in Southbridge, MA (near Sturbridge, Worcester) on August 12 at West Street Field.

Plans include a miniature Fenway Park for the event and a homerun derby. This is the second annual tournament and proceeds benefit the Aislen Cipro Fund.

Aislen is an 8-year-old girl battling neuroblastoma, a rare cancer. She has bravely fought the disease for three years.

Sounds like a great event. If I it was in Central Maryland, I'd definitely be there.

You should be commended for helping to make an event like this happen.

$60 per team with a home run derby. I believe the derby is $5 for anyone in the tournament but at the moment my mind is so squashed I'm not 100% sure on that. Could be as much as $10. Pretty sure it's $5.

All teams are guaranteed at least 2 round robin games before the elimination tournament. The number of teams entered will determine how many gamesin the round robin and how many teams make elimination. This will be solidified about 1 week before the tournament, but all teams will get at least 2 round robin games.

My 3 year old daughter was diagnost with neuroblastoma 2 years ago. We were lucky though as the younger it's detected the better the survival rate. In my understanding of this particular cancer, 8 years old is not good. I really wish I could make the trip up there and participate. My brothers and I have been playing wiffleball down here on Long Island every spring for about 20 years. Good luck with the tourny, I'll pray for a massive turnout.
