Brother Elephants!! and International Baseball

I love looking up the real names of some of these teams. The Taiwanese Brother Elephants is one of my favorites.

With International Baseball, I love all of the options. While I can't have a World Baseball Classic quite yet, I can have Smaller International Leagues. For example, I have a Cuban league in the 19th century, which I will start off as AAA caliber. Then, I add Mexico, Venezuelan, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as minor leagues at the single A level to the parent organization of the Cuban League. That way, the players could move around within the league and the names will all be Spanish.

As I progress into the latter 20th century, I will be able to change the caliber of these leagues, as well as open them up to free agency from American clubs.

On a final note for now about International play, I have checked the list and I cannot find the International flag for Texas.

I have modded the game in beta to make Texas independant. When I got a flag file from the internet, converted it to the correct size, it looked awful in game.

A modder will have to handle that one.

227,Texas,Texas,TEX,Texan,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2

Add that line to nations.txt

Open cities.txt in Excel, sort by state, and change the value 206 ( The United States ) to 227 ( Texas ).

Get a flag and there's your Texas mod.

They claim to reserve the right to seperate into several smaller states if they desire. But a state declaring independence was done once before and the Federal Government in Washington was not too understanding.

Remember the Alamo!

San Antonio Times, May 1866

Remember the Alamo!....is having half price tickets this Saturday for the BIG GAME. For each 5 cent ticket, one penny goes to the Texas Independence Foundation.

And make sure you all are in good spirits, because the one and only Santa Anna is pitching against our Nine. Boys under 6 wearing coonskin caps get in free.
