Team Logo Needed

Can one of you guys try to help me out with a logo?
Here's an example of one that I made, but it seems a bit amateur to me. This is my first attempt at making a logo. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to makie it look a little more proffesional.

well... I don't seem to see what the problem is with this pic.
The team name is the Havana Comrades
Thanks!

Here's my attempt at it. My regular computer is in the shop getting fixed/upgraded for OOTP2006, so I'm reduced to using my laptop and it is SLOW. Also the colours look different on this screen, so I don't know how close I came to your original.
Let me know if you want anything changed. I wasn't sure which size you needed it in, so I went with the standard 150x150.
I really like your logo - the only issue I saw was that the colour textures look different - almost as if they are transparent. Other than that, it's terrific!

Snarky, I'll agree with reds. Other than the techinical stuff that he said is not quite right, it's actually a very good logo that you made.

Reds- That's a great logo, and basically exactly what I was looking for! I liked my logo but just wanted to add some sort of character. I wanted to add a commie but didn't know how to do it., This is exactly what you did!
This is my first time playing around with logos, I've been using Correl Draw, is that what you guys use? Would you recommend another program?

Also, for some reason or another, I had problems exporting my filed to a .jpeg, so I had to convert it to a .png. That may be a reason for some of the color problems.

Also, where do you find those cool fonts- like the one that you wrote "comrades" with?

Thanks, Snarky. The font I used for 'Comrade' is called "Demonized" and I got it here (along with a whole bunch of other freeware fonts):

http://www.fontfreak.com/index3.htm

Click on 'PC Fonts' on the left hand side and then click on the letter 'D' at the top. The text is found in the 5th row from the bottom.
Since the text has a forward slant to it, it doesn't lend itself well to curved text IMO. So I just use it for large straight text.

I use Photoshop for making these logos as do a number of others on the boards. But there are a few who use CorelDraw (Cuss, Dbacks, Le Grande Orange, StorminZ for example). Although I have never used it, CorelDraw is an excellent program for making logos, as can be seen from their work here.

I can't really comment on your file saving issue though, as I'm not familiar with CorelDraw. However, .png files are one of the preferred file formats for the new game (logos will still be 150x150 pixels in size).

Cool, thanks for the info.

I have a request with the logo if it's an easy fix... could you give the comrade a cigar?
I posted it on my league site and someone suggeted it.

thanks!
