Actually, you had half of two stories. The father/son incident, as has been pointed out, involved KC 1st base coach Tom Gamboa ( I believe).

There was another fan out of the stands incident at new Comiskey, I believe within a year's time, that involved an attack on an umpire. I believe also at 1st base.

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew there was a second incident involving an ump getting viciously attacked buried somewhere in my brain, but couldn't recall the specifics.

If I recall correctly, there was also another incident from the same year where a brawl broke out between the Texas Rangers bullpen & some fans in Anaheim. A woman got hit flush with a folding chair and broke her nose, courtesy of Frank Francisco.

Yes, thankfully. Everyone knows the story of the abuse that Jackie Robinson had to endure from both fans & opposing players alike when he broke in with the Dodgers in '47, but I don't recall anyone throwing bananas at him, like one often sees nowadays at European football matches.

Geez..that was 50+ years ago...the racism in footie is happening today. Even so, a few morons shouldnt tarnish a great game.

Yes, Babs, I know. I thought I made that distinction in my post. And I'm not sure if it's just a "few morons" in footie. There was an incident just a few days ago in Spain or Portugal ( I think) in which it seemed thousands of bananas were tossed on the field. It's a little hard to believe that just a handful of people can carry & conceal that many bunches of bananas. They're not the sort of thing that one can hide easily in one's pants, you know?

I said it before, like it or not, unions are a part of the game. And not just strikes, but also owner lockouts.

I voted no because it's way outside of the scope of this game.

But, if there was some kind of commish mode where you have to compete against leagues, deal with owners, unions etc. it would be a little more interesting. OOTP's probably not the right game, but it might be kinda fun to have a "league building" game where you have to compete against other leagues for the best players, team markets etc.

Yeah, so many more actual baseball things need to get done and done right before something like a labor stoppage should get in the game.

You can easily emulate a stoppage by putting a break in the schedule.

You can't easily do expansion drafts.

Let's just see that draft picks can be traded more than once before we go asking for fringe baseball-related features.

I would absolutely hate to have a "strike" feature in this sim. To me this would make the simulation more of game then. If this feature does make it in somewhere down the road then I would hope there would be an on/off option. Personally it would be lioke adding in a "steriod" feature in the game.

Personally, I'm not interested in suspensions, strikes, steriods or any other negative feature that plagues the MLB today.

In a way you can put in steroids by messing with the power settings. But as for omitting things because they are negative is something I just don't like. If it is in the game, put it in the game. But always allow it to be turned off.
