Only 10 pitchers on cpu teams

Has anyone noticed since 6.12 that cpu teams only having 10 man pitching staffs instead of 11?

I've had some teams with 6-man staffs in the deadball era. Well, I've been controlling them, so it wasn't an AI thing. But still.

I usually use 10 man staffs myself.

Maybe your era setting was changed.

I play in the modern era or steroid era and could not imagine carry less than 12. I also play in the NL which can make a difference.

I can't imagine ever needing 12 pitchers. The only time I bring up an 11th is when one gets hurt, but not for a long enough time to justify a DL stint.

I carried 14 once in an online league because all my position players sucked.

I carry 11, and I don't think I use them enough.

I tend to have a very quick hook. Probably comes from watching Felipe Alou manage for two years...

In the AL sometimes I'll go with 11, but I prefer 12.

Assuming a five-man staff, I carry 11 pitchers total. Four-man gets it down to 10, pre-modern will knock another one off. If OOTP created more and had usable pitcher/position players, I'd probably carry even less. Ideally, I'd have my starters, a closer, and maybe one ace reliever, and the rest of my relief staff would be versions of Brooks Kieschnick.

If OOTP had six-man rotations and I chose to use them, I still would not carry twelve pitchers. That is simply too many.

Preface: I play my games out, rather than simming.

In my modern-era ball leagues, I tend to carry 10; popping up to 11 when someone (usually a long-reliever) looks like he'll be spent for a few days. Normally, I construct my pen so that I have as much endurance and control as possible in my pitchers- particularly middle and long relief- as possible. A couple of workhorses that give up a few runs here and there is a little more valuable to me in the middle relief role than an ace who can only go for three outs.

I used to always carry 11 pitchers, but didn't really need to, and I think it was like a dependency. I finally trimmed down to 10, and it works out much better.

slight hijack, but how is the relief ace usage looking with 6.12? save leaders are accurate for modern day, y'all have noticed?
