Extensions Disappearing?
Hey guys, I'm doing co-commish work for a league, and recently off of the main file I've been doing extensions for GM's. Well, after doing them, and going back to process trades/signings/cuts, etc......which you need to import files from FTP or e-mail first, I've found that almost all of the extensions I've done no longer appear in the game. The text files all show the appropriate extensions, but the game itself still reads most of the players being possible free agents. Any clue why this happened & how to prevent it from happening?

Sounds like to me that somewhere in this process that the wrong versions of files are being used. In other words, somehow it appears that non-up-to-date files are either being imported or attempting to be imported which may wipe out your work, not sure as I have not tried it.
Be "certain" that ONLY current version files are being used by both you and the commish and the GM's at all times. Tasks like you are doing should be done either just before a sim(when all imports have been completed) or just after a sim(just before league files are uploaded for the GM's).

Thanks Steve, I'll try to set it up to do extensions before a sim (when all exp. are in), or after......I figured that was the problem, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something else. I didn't think that imports/exports would interfere with that.

I'm not 100% sure that they do, but couldn't think of any other reason that it would happen.

Well if you are importing the lineups... they have the player attributes (like current position (which can be changed by owner), etc.) included... so its quite possible the contracts are in the export... if this was the case then bringing in the export would indeed overwrite the extension you just processed.
Just a thought but I'd assume that this is what is happening. |
