Randy Moss is quite possibly the best wide reciever to play the game no doubt. Randy Moss is also quite possibly the most self-absorbed fool who has ever played the game. The shinning example of the modern day athlete mold...All flash-no substance-no character. Take Moss, Owens, Sprewell and Artest to name a few from the game and what do you have left...A little more respect for the GAME itself.

A little bravado is fine in its place but now its see who can get center stage and make the biggest splash. Has nothing to do with team spirit its all about MEMEMEMEME!

MEMEMEMEME and $$$$$$$$$$$$$.................===BORING!

I love sports but I really miss the "team" part of it!

There is something called sportsmanship.
But not many players seem to know anything about it.

I am pretty much bored with end zone celebrations, i would just prefer they hand the ball to the ref.
Whats the big deal. You scored a td, Your paid to try and score a td.
I guess kickers can go and celebrate after a field goal.
I guess i miss the old days when players came to play football and not celebrate
a 5 yd sack in the 4th qrt with their team down by 20 points.
Of course that was a long long time ago.

Color me insane. I guess I still think it was such an utterly tasteless celebration, especially given the wipe (R&B dance move my arse) on the goalpost. I watched it and when he started 'the moon' I could have cared less, it was how he finished it off that disgusted me...and should have disgusted anybody with any decency. Of course, maybe it is the fact that I'm a Packers fan and he did that at Lambeau Field, but you will not convince me it was "nothing to get upset about." Now, I'm not going to make it my personal mission to continually go on about it. I knew Moss was a sleazy piece of s__t well before that game and he is fortunate that he can play football (when he wants to) because I'm firmly convinced he'd be on the street otherwise. Once a loser, always a loser. In Moss's case, he is a talented loser. I wouldn't normally say such a thing, but in this instance I actually hope some enterprising DB will find the time to absolutely blow him up on some play and Moss can take his talent and his attitude to the trash-heap of what-might-have-been. In my opinion, that would be too good for him. A lot of people in life don't have the opportunities that Randy Moss has and he just doesn't deserve them. Pathetic with a capital "P".

...and yes, I agree that Moss played a hell of a game. The Packers deserved the loss and all that.

EDIT: For all that I find Moss to be a worthless jack-ass, I will stand corrected if I can see a replay where he didn't do the "wipe" that I thought I so clearly saw. I know there is a Lambeau tradition about mooning, so I can understand that much...the rest, well, Buck's terming it "disgusting" fit so far as I saw it. Time may well prove me to be overreacting.

Nah, probably not. I'm generally not blinded by partisan loyalties in football (now, if we are discussing St. Louis Cardinals baseball, that is another story) unlike some other fans.

I have a recording and have seen the supposed wipe several times. All it was, was ONE hip bump to the goal post before two teammates came over and hugged him in celebration.

Then of course Joe Buck freakin out.... Aikman just kinda said.... whatever, lets get back to the play. I really wonder if Buck thought Moss actually mooned the crowd.

I read an article that it is customary for tailgating Green Bay fans to moon the visiting team's bus in the parking lot as it arrives. This was a return poke that was supposed to be considered playful. I don't like Moss, but I think that's funny.

That does make it funnier - considering what I think of Moss' intelligence, this is a big step up for him...

NFL will slap him with a $5,000 fine....I agree it was disrespectful but no worse than any other form of celebration/taunting that's gone on in the last 2-3 years. I suppose I'm being desensitized to it at this point. But do they really think $5,000 will change his perspective on anything anytime soon? It probably costs him $5,000 to get his 'fro groomed.

Just saw an interview with Tony Dungy that at least puts a little bit of context into the Moss-man's latest incident. Dungy said Green Bay fans are infamous among NFL players for mooning the players in the parking lot after games and he thought Moss was just having some fun getting back at Green Bay fans. Now maybe doing this in the middle of a playoff game lacks class and good sense, but there does actually appear to be a reason why he did it.

I don't like Moss, and I didn't care for what he did. But what really bothered me is what Joe Buck and the post commentators did. I wouldn't even have noticed the celebration if Buck didn't go on and on about it. It shouldn't even have been mentioned during the game, let along ranting and raving about it while at the end of a playoff game. Geez. I gained some more respect for Collinsworth and Aikman, they didn't give it a notice and encouraged Buck to get back to the game.

Of course, the fact that by all reports he is great with kids in Minnesota, or that he gives most of his TD to the handicapped fans sitting on the sideline is just more proof that he is a horrible person.

That's what I was most upset about. The Fox post-game announcer didn't even talk about the game, they focused solely on Moss and his celebration.
