Attached is a 1924 image of Eddie Pick with the Cincinnati Reds. This is one of a number of images that have been extracted from the 1924 Reds team photo.

Eddie Pick's career is dominated by his time with the 1927 Chicago Cubs where he made all of his career starts almost exclusively as a third baseman. 54 of his 66 total appearances were with the Cubs. Prior to that his 12 appearances were spread over 2 seasons (1923 & 24) with the Cincinnati Reds, mainly as a substitute in left field.
Here is a clearer version

Thank you, very much appreciate the significant improvement!

As I mentioned previously the Pick image was one of a number images extracted from the team photo. If a similar upgrade can be applied to some of those additional photos it would be very beneficial.

Images represent, Jakie May, Pete Donohue, Dolf Luque, Eppa Rixey and Ed Hock.

How attached to these particular photos are you? For most of these guys there are larger and clearer photos available with them wearing this uniform.

Attached to them insofar as there is no better image available for them with that team in a particular year, of course there will be better images of a player with a team in a different year but that will represent the player from that year.

The facepack project I am working on is an attempt to have an image that represents a player's career year by year. I am quite happy to send you an example of a yearly file if you wish.

O.K., I went online and found what I believe to be the original team photo. I used that as the starting point for Pick and Hock (attached). Starting from as close to the original as possible generally yields a better result than "enhancing an enhancement". I had to crop way up on Pick's photo since the "REDS" letters got mangled regardless of what I tried.

I will take a pass on the other four. If I were doing an image pack for my personal use, I wouldn't use these if a better (and easier to process) photo for '23 or '25 existed. The uniforms don't appear to differ significantly for those years and a one year age difference would likely be imperceptable. I understand and appreciate your usage case is different but the "cost benefit" calculation for me dictates spending time on photos that process easier and don't require an excess amount of AI unless necessary.

Thank you for your kindness and time in undertaking the extra colorization in respect of Hock in addition to the requested colorization of Pick. The request I made in respect of Hock and the other 4 Reds images was pointed in the direction of rlumpkin who previously had very kindly upgraded the Pick image; and I assumed the additional images extracted from the same photo would not represent a significant amount of time for him.

I fully understand and agree with your sentiments in terms of not spending time on images that present very little added value, in terms of effective usage of time, and in selecting the images I request for colorization that has been my main criteria in choosing the ones I have requested. This even stretched to suggesting that time you were proposing to spend on one image would be better spent on an alternate option. I value greatly the superb images you create and also similarly value the co-operation present in this thread. I very much regret if you feel I am imposing demands on you that represent an ineffective use of your time, I have done my best to try and avoid that.

That image was in respect of Dee Cousineau. I respect that your colorization abilities are far more extensive than mine so I also adopt the same approach in respect of my personal time management and prefer to spend that time in extensive research and the management of images, where I believe my skills are at their best.

The facepack I have been working for many years is aimed not just for my personal use but as an enhancement to the previous Pegasus facepacks which ideally in the long-term I would like to post in collaboration with cinemaodyssey. Presently, his priority is work on the Negro league images. It is a long time since an update was posted for the Pegasus facepacks. It would be wonderful for others to assist in this undertaking.
.
I am posting what I came up with in respect of Cousineau which I appreciate does not match your standards in terms of quality alongside a request for Elsh which shows him in a uniform that has not previously been colorized, with the 1924 Chicago White Sox.

Dee Cousineau 1923

Edward Thomas "Dee" Cousineau

Thought I would let A.I. photo restore see what was possible with that Dee Cousineau image. Not great, but usable as an in-game image. He got a new ear in the process. I smoothed out the neck area as best I could and ran the image through deepnostalgia's photo restore. Then smoothed it out some more, cut and pasted the ear on it and ran it through restore again.

I'll resist the temptation to reference silk purse/sow's ear.

Very nice work.

Thank you appreciate your efforts in respect of the Cousineau upgrade.

Attached is another image extracted from a 1924 team photo. This shows Ray Steineder with the1924 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Steineder was a right handed pitcher who appeared in the Major Leagues in 1923 and 1924. After debuting with the Pirates in 1923 he split his time in 1924 with the Pirates and Phillies.

He pitched 55 of his career total of 86 plus innings in 1923. In 1924 he pitched just over 2 innings with the Pirates before spending the remainder of his service with the Phillies. He had a career ERA of 4.90 in his 64 total appearances.
