Here's another request I've been meaning to make for a while now, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I would like a fictional old style MLB logo, specifically for use in the early 20th century for my replay league. The modern MLB logo is just not appropriate for that time period Do what you will, I'm sure I'll be impressed. Again, thank you for your time. |

I haven't been on here in a while and it is amazing the work being done on this thread! Nothing personal against anyone else, but this is always the first place I come when I sign in. TX and Knuckler are immortals! Awesome stuff dudes!
I found some offbeat teams. I wouldn't mind unis and logos for each if time permitsI No rush. 1) Cuban House of David. A traveling team in 1931 and 1932 that actually featured Cuban HOF's Alejandro Oms and Luis Tiant Sr. (I found a picture/drawing that showed what the unis looked like) 2) Germantown (PA) Blue Ribbons-an industrial league team. For ten years, the Blue Ribbons fielded a team every season and played some of the best sandlot teams in the area. Played in the early 1900's. In 1912 the team was renamed the Murdock Grays and eventually became the Homestead Grays (a little history lesson for all of yall') I found a t-shirt made by Shribe vintage sports store. This could be used for the logo and maybe an idea of team colors. |

Txranger, all of of your creations are, at the least, very good... however, the Germantown Blue Ribbons' logo is supremely magnificent.
What software do you use to create your logos, jerseys and caps? Where do you get your templates, images and fonts? Are you a graphics professional that uses professional software? I am not very good with computer software, but have made some decent logos using justafan's great logo creator... but I'm am very limited in using it... I can only load up a finished image from cephas james' logos, but can't change the colors... then I add the concentric circles, color them and add the text... but often the text is not spaced properly... it's just a bare, basic logo. I would like to do better. Any suggestions? Last edited by Eugene Church; 03-30-2015 at 03:09 PM. |

Only very good...
You know, it is hard to hit a home run at every at bat... Right now I use Photoshop... In the past I have used PaintShop Pro and Photoshop Elements, which is a downsized version of Photoshop... There is an add on you can purchase called Elements XXL which will add a lot of the full blown Photoshop to Elements... Templates are just the ones that are already out there made by the really talented folks... Images are out there just search the internet... Lots of places to get free fonts, Dafont.com is a good starting place... Fonts By Conrad | Sports Fonts For Your Enjoyment Free fonts download Download Free true type fonts - µfonts are a few other good places for fonts... I am not a graphics professional, but I have slept at a Holiday Inn Express before!!! Self taught by many a trial and error and a lot of help and inspiration from Knuckler and No Pepper and many others hereabouts... You really can't change the color on the png images with much success... You need the layered files that these programs can manipulate to change things... The layered version of the png files are merged into one layer and saved as a png format for the game to use... Justafan's programs are great... They do have their limitations... Paint.net is a free program and I started with it... You can do some good stuff with it... Maybe try it and get your feet wet and go on from there if you want to... tx, have you done the All Cubans (~1903-05)? Pretty sure I've looked thru all the folders in your bucket that might have them, but it's still possible I might've missed them.
Also, same question, but for the Paterson Smart Set (1912-1913)... |

Just to follow up on that last post, if the All Cubans haven't been done already, I found this photo of them, dated 1902:

Long time listener, first time caller. This thread has been, hands down, my favorite resource for OOTP and really spurred my interest in fictional leagues. So thanks to all the contributors, whose work is amazing.
I was curious if there were any future plans for additional college teams? I'd like to start a league with divisions based on the Pac-12, Big Ten, old-SWC uniforms that have already been posted, and it would be great to have a few SEC/ACC/southern teams to pair with Auburn, Arkansas, and Georgia Tech. |

I saw a few ACC and SEC teams in there. I plan to use a few of the California teams to add a California division to my fictional league.

Thanks for the link. I also saw the sticky by Robo just now. Still, I guess I like the retro look for consistency, especially when it comes to the logos.
