Ken Sanders 1964
During his photograph-light tour with the Angels. These photos must date to spring training, 1975, just before the Cherubs dealt him off to the Mets.

Charley Fuller 1902
Fuller was a catcher in three games with Brooklyn in July, 1902, while Duke Farrell was ill with what was described in The Brooklyn Daily Eagle as "a bad attack of malarial fever." In ten plate appearances, he had a sacrifice bunt and was 0-for-9. He continued playing in the minor leagues through 1908. Last edited by RUKen; 05-26-2016 at 08:14 AM. |

Ken Rowe - 1963 Dodgers
In today's release from Topps Vault, Ken Rowe, who appeared in 14 games with the 1963 Dodgers, before moving on to Baltimore.
The Vault also released an image of Ken as a Spring Training Instructor with the Braves, which I've posted in the coaches thread. |

Luis Rosado
I believe we've had Vault images of short-time 1977 and 1980 Mets carcher Luis "Papo" Rosado before, but you just can't have too many.

Don Rose - California Angels
Along with Nolan Ryan, part of the package that brought Jim Fregosi to the Mets (ouch). Some nice shots of Rose California dreaming.

Mike Rowland 1980
As scarce as they come. The previous color images of this 28-game Giant reliever of 1980-81 have been limited to his rookie card and a couple of shots from AAA.
Today's Topps uploads: 191-192 Vic Roznovsky; 193-194 Mike Rowland; 195-196 Ken Rowe; 197-200 Gary Ross; 201-202 Paul Runge; 203-206 Dave Rosello; 207-208 John Roseboro; 209-210 Guy Rose (Atlanta minors); 211-214 Dick Ruthven; 215-218 Bill Russell; 219-220 Manuel "Chico" Ruiz (1978); 221-224 Pete Runnels; 225-228 Don Rose; 229-230 Luis Rosado; 231-232 Tom Runnells; 233-234 Manuel "Chico" Ruiz (1978); 235-238 Vern Ruhle; 239-242 Joe Rudi; 243-246 Ken Rudolph; 247-248 Dave Rucker; 249-250 Chuck Ross. Don Rose 1971
The Nolan Ryan trade is interesting; the images of Rose in his two-game major league farewell with the Giants in 1974 constitute the news. There aren't even quality black and white San Francisco images of him.
Parenthetically, Rose surely generated a lot of news for a fellow who saw action in only 19 games. In 1972 he became only the fifth player in baseball history to hit a homer on the first pitch he ever saw. He only hit two more in 250 minor league plate appearances. |

Ken Rudolph 1969
Veteran back-up catcher in two of his more difficult-to-find garb (Giants, 1974, 1977; Cardinals 1975-76).
The Cardinals' image dates unquestionably to 1975 due to the presence of Danny Cater over his shoulder. |

Vern Ruhle 1974
Another familiar face in an atypical uniform. I think there's one Brace image of the long-time pitcher from his Cleveland interlude in 1985.

Mordecai Brown 1903
This full-length image from the St. Louis Republic shows Three-Finger Brown as a rookie in the uniform of the St. Louis Cardinals. Brown was 9-13 that season. He was traded to the Chicago Cubs on December 12, 1903. Last edited by RUKen; 05-27-2016 at 06:27 AM. |
