Problem with accents and other characters

For some reason, the game isn't showing accents and other characters that are not native to the English language. Instead I get random symbols.

Any idea why this might be happening?

This is almost a game breaker for me.

Figured it out.

I didn't save the txt files in unicode format, I did as UTF-8. Once I saved them as unicode, all was good.
