After downloading the update, cannot get beyond the first screen

Cannot even get into the game. It shows the screen before that there is a Latest OOTP 25 patch and it will not even get into the game.

What actually happens when you try, is there an error message?

It just locks up. I have now tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest patch..no luck.

I am going to try to install the base game before any patches if I can find it.

I have the same issue. Game hard freezes on launch. Have tried verifying game files and uninstall/reinstall through steam. I only have this issue on my Lenovo Legion Pro, not on my desktop or regular laptop.

Just a guess.... different malware protector on the Legion Pro? such that some piece isn't installing even when forced.

Maybe? I haven’t quite gotten that far yet. It was working fine for a couple weeks and then just quit seemingly out of the blue on Tuesday.

This is happening to me as well. I uninstalled and reinstalled and now I can't even get past the Welcome Popup. I was fine playing earlier today, started happening around four hours ago.

Installing the patch makes game lock up on opening pitch. My friend works for Dell and he told me to try playing without my anti-virus on. IT WORKED fine.
Don't like doing anything on a PC without having anti-virus on. So I went back to V24.

I'm still having this issue on my Legion Pro. I played around with the firewall settings with no luck. Game still instantly freezes when it opens.

The better thing to do here would be just to whitelist OOTP25 in your anti-virus. I would guess this might be the problem for most of the other folks having the same issue here as well.

I’ve triple checked and OOTP and Steam are already white-listed through Windows Security. The game works fine with the exact same settings on my laptop and desktop, but still instantly freezes on game launch on my Legion Pro. What’s more confusing is that it worked fine for over a week before the freezing started.

Having the same issue as well on my Lenovo Legion laptop. OOTP25 has been whitelisted, I've tried reinstalling and verifying game files and nothing has worked. Hoping a solution can be found soon.

The terms "Legion laptop Steam trouble" in Google seemed so abundant, it may just be a Legion v. Steam thing.

since about midnightish or so last night all of a sudden when i try to go into ootp, it brings up the home page, with the popups about the tutorials and stuff like i opened the game for the first time. before i can do anything,my laptop says the program is not responding do i want to close app or wait for it to respond. ive uninstalled and redownloaded multiple times. im running out of ideas and i just wanna play some ootp! any help would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows anything

Had there been any progress on this? I’m considering buying another laptop to play the game on and although it’s not a Legion it is a Lenovo. I already play on an older Lenovo though so maybe it is just the Legion.

Nothing new afaik. From all I've heard it's just the Legion though.
