Locating the Interesting Stat
I know it's not feasible for the game to operate in a find-all-peculiar-stats mode, but I'm curious about how and what interesting stats you as game-owners and team managers/GMs keep an eye on or record as significant incidents. It's very difficult to describe what I'm asking, I apologize. But it's akin to the commentary you listen to on radio or television that plods along with mostly expected data or verbal play-by-play production and then that "interesting" statistic is lodged out there for consideration that I might never have looked for or noted, maybe went totally unnoticed in the course of the week's events.
What originally made me try to put this inquiry into words (and I always use too many) was listening to one of the radio sport news networks this week and they were talking about someone recently on a run hitting triples, an achievement in the neighborhood of 7 triples in his last 13 games - or thereabouts. These x-incidents over the last y-games are the ones I'm primarily considering. Are there ways you use to watch for such incidents and combinations? Are there some that should be watched for, e.g. the pbp - I think - already accounts for RBI game streaks, but others? There are countless events, I'm sure. Every time I have a guy hit 2 HR in the game I wonder, but don't have the data, how many times this season or in his history did he hit multi-HR in a game? Guess I'm wondering, through some imagination and statistical awareness, how do we add that extra pizzaz of stat-info to our commentaries, written or internal?

With the current level of other interests, bumping this to get a second chance at some feedback. Thanks in advance.
