Apology to Dave Horn
Dagrims pointed out correctly that the fanboys you were referring to was regarding people who weren't discussing the minor league stat issue. I didn't notice the "and adversaries" after the fanboy comment so I though the "waking up" was in reference to those who were on the other side of the coin from what stating. So for that I apologize and I couldn't do it in the thread since unfortunately it was closed (and rightly so, just too bad we couldn't continue the minor league discussion).
So my point about the use of the term "fanboys" still applies, it just doesn't apply in regards to you. Resorting to the term fanboys is usually a persons last or only resort when they find themselves in the minority of a discussion. Anyway, it was a good discussion while it lasted and I appreciate what you had to say even if we disagree based on our own experiences.

Hmm... I had to go back and read that as well, and I see what you mean Iatric.. Dave meant that the discussion between AAA stats was being interrupted by those posting about the $10 issue again... in that effect, I too misread Dave's comments as calling us fanboys - to that, I too apologize.
My experience with my leagues have not seen to much of what Dave talks about. I think last year I had someone hit 65 homers in the minors, but he is capable right now of being in the major (i'm keeping him down because he has a few areas I want him to improve in before he hits the show - I find that growth occurs faster at AAA). Most of the time, however, once guys are reach the kind of stats illustrated, we already have them up and playing as almost all the managers in my league tend to rush talent into the majors...

Yes, Dagrims was exactly right I wasn't calling either of you a fanboy. It was a derogatory term for anyone pro would didn't have anything contructive to day. Adversaries was the best I could come up with for the other half. I guess whinebags might of been a better term, but Cooleyvol might already have that trademarked and copyrighted.
![]() I was ducking out because I had to go to a meeting, the thread degenerating just gave me a convenient excuse. I enjoyed the history lesson on 1930's baseball, I never would of guessed that. Maybe we can pick up the minor league stats discussion another time. |

I too wish to apologise to Dave Horn, not for anything spacific mind you, just 'cause. Perhaps the missing "Van" in the name upsets me? I don't know.
As to the alternatopic; I have played many MANY solo seasons and have only had a very small fraction of AAA superstars prove to be such at the majors. Most of the top rated players saw little or no AAA time for the computer controlled teams under 6.12 (or earlier) in my leagues.
