For anybody who's league doesn't allow playing out of position...
You just tell the commish Jermaine Dye sent you.
Oakland - Bottom of 9th Damaso Marte pitching for Chicago J Dye at shortstop. T Perez in right field. E Durazo singled to center. D Hermanson relieved D Marte. M Ellis sacrificed to first, E Durazo to second. N Swisher intentionally walked. M Scutaro singled to left, E Durazo scored, N Swisher to second. |

Yea but did he start the game there or did the computer sub him into the slot.
I've seen my now retired Harold Baines of the CDL fill in at shortstop a couple of times, not by my doing but by the wonders of the OOTP Gods.

But then why is this so-called "real" baseball intruding upon our fantasy? How dare it!

I don't get it. Sure, Dye got subbed in there - but due to necessity. And yeah, it happens (see: Doug Mientkiewicz starting a game at 2B last year), but you're not likely to see Juan Pierre start playing third base out of the blue on a regular basis.
