NBA Draft Lottery Projected

Notice anything interesting from this story? Something left out? Oh yeah, high school players. Just one projected in the top 10.

The NBA Draft is about the only NBA related programming (or event, for that matter) that I'll pay any real attention to. As a Tar Heels fan, it's exciting to see that Marvin Williams is estimated to go so high, and interesting to see Ray Felton projected to the Lakers. I wonder where that leaves May and McCants?

I'm surprised that on ESPN, they have Deron Williams going before McCants.

I agree. I think McCants, while incredibly talented, is overrated and unreliable. He plays well when the mood strikes him, but more often then not seems just average while Williams is always good.

You're absolutely right.

I can't tell you how many times I screamed at the TV last season while four guys were charging after a rebound or hustling down court on defense, while McCants was gazing off into the crowd like he didn't even realize a game was going on. He's got the talent, but there's something going on in his head. Maybe being in the "big time" will change that, but there's certainly no evidence to support that theory.

I thought this thread was going to be about who got the lottery picks. Because of right now, I say the Lakers have 99.9% chance to have the number 1 pick overall.

So you believe in those conspiracy theories involving the Knicks and Ewing, eh Jax?

I believe the NBA needs New York and LA to be in the Playoffs for them to be happy. So I can see LA getting number 1 and New York getting number 2 in the private won't let the rest of the world see lottery.

Considering the Knicks are now the Clippers East, according to your theory the NBA hasn't been happy in quite awhile.

That's inaccurate. The Knicks overpay their losers, the Clippers simply won't pay their winners.

Don't forget, the Clippers are now the premier basketball franchise in LA. They did finish ahead of the Lakers this year.

Chris Paul, PG, Wake Forest...Charlotte would probably prefer to have a popular local Tar Heel such as Williams to play alongside Emeka Okafor, but it also needs a point guard for the future.
Does this guy realize that Wake Forest is also in North Carolina?
As far as the Hawks pick, I'm always biased about guys I've actually seen, but I really like Paul.

Wait a minute. Where are the Bulls? They're supposed to be in it every year, aren't they?

Personally if I'm the Pacers at 17 and Francisco Garcia is still on the board, I jump all over him. Let's see 6'7 skinny shooting guard who can hit from anywhere, kinda sounds familiar.

Another thing if Julius Hodge falls to 55th, he will be the steal of the draft.

I can't believe Simien is forecast to go as low as 24. Injury problems aside, I think he has more skills than Okafor. He'll be a steal for a good team down in the 20's. In this particular mock draft having him in Houston would really make that team complete. A skilled PF next to Ming would be mighty tough to beat with McGrady finally pulling his head out of his butt.

I'll take you up on that bet. In fact, I'll give you #2 as well.

I think Kansas' early exit in the tournament is hurting Simien as much as UNC winning (and a dominant performance) is helping May.

dola,

Bill Simmons commented on this recently, but is anybody else amused that the Hawks will likely use consecutive lottery picks on Josh Childress and Andrew Bogut? No wonder there's about 100 fans at each Hawks game.
