7/32/1994?

Just saw something very odd in my fictional league. A bunch of league transactions took place on Monday 7/32/1994.

I have no idea how this happened. The game accurately had things as Monday 8/1/1994 and nothing froze, crashed, etc.

It shouldn't take much to edit the files to make everything say the correct date, but this is something I have never seen before.

Could it have something to do with the strike?

My fictional players don't believe in strikes.

Another weird thing: All the signings/releases done on this day are labeled as 7/32. All the contract extensions are 8-1 on the player history pages (btw, when were extensions included in player histories?). Very odd.

honestly trying to make it look like this isn't a +1 here, but this really is one of the strangest bugs i've ever heard of. all i can think of - when's your league start date, when's the all star game, and did you edit the schedule at all?

don't know how any of that could matter, but just the same...

Well, I use Stickware's schedule generator every season so I do edit the schedule and I've never had the problem. In the middle of a game now so I don't have the start date offhand, but the All Star game was June 28th.

I edited everything that said 7/32/1994. I haven't noticed any problems like game results not counting or anything. It seems like everything recognized the date as August 1st except signing/releasing. I guess someone just can't let go of July.

It's not that new a thing.

I have seen it a couple times in my league (in 2033 most recently) for no discernible reason, and have noticed absolutely no ill effects because of it.

I'd respectfully disagree with you, however marginally, that having it occur at all and being reminded once again of the many seemingly inconsequential yet errant incidents within the game is of some ill effect: it adds its noise to unnecessary disenchantments within in otherwise remarkable game.

I do know what you mean; just taking the opportunity to point out again, that in many respects we tend to settle into acceptance and in the process infer our approval in light of greater gains. My life's condition is one thing, but as goes the game I'm not yet comfortably numb.
