Increasing number of K's ??
I'd like to increase the number of strikeouts in my solo league by about 15%.
Current Engine Settings are: AB: 86571 Strikeouts: 7000 Avg Balls in Play: .312 I tried adjusting the Strikeouts, descreasing it from 7800 to 7000. If anything, the number of Strikeout further decreased after this change was made !!! Does Avg Balls in Play have anything to do with this ??? Any suggestions would be appreciated..... |

You're doing the right thing, just experiencing some bad luck.
To test out such a dynamic, try setting up a test league with a fairly small number of teams (small enough for the sims to go quickly, but large enough to give a good enough sample size). Make it a replay league, turn off injuries (unless you're testing those), turn off financials, waivers, set "allow computer teams to sign and relase players" to no, etc.. Next, reduce or increase the stat in question by a ridiculous amount, and sim the season. For example, I reduced my strikeouts under the league totals from 30801 to 5000. Suffice it to say that Nolan Ryan, Bob Feller, and Randy Johnson would have all stood in complete and utter awe of the scrubbiest pitchers in the league. You just have to find the right proportions, but be aware that luck does have something to do with it. Also, don't hit "calculate" after you adjust the strikeouts, otherwise it could wind up throwing off your other ratings.

I dont change the avg balls in play option once i have it set for my first season.
I think it can cause more harm than good. |
