I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

This reminds me so much of McGwire's last year.

I'll repeat what I said elsewhere: anyone who cheers a player's injury shows a distinct lack of class. I don't cheer when Jeff Weaver or Adrian Beltre got injured, or when Eric Chavez does. I could make the obligatory Oakland and class comment, but I think I'll hold off.

Agreed. I'd be perfectly happy if Bonds never hit another home run, but not this way.

I was just about to post the same thing.

I figured I'd get that. Obviously I'm not cheering the guy being hurt, but I like the possibility of him not breaking Aaron's record.

With all the injury pools and death pools around here, I think it's pretty obvious this stuff is in jest and we're not seriously wishing harm on others.

Based on this news, I'm predicting a less than MVP season from Mr. Bonds.

Funny - I read posting "Its a Wonderful World" as being more then jest- but to each their own.

From the looks of the article he trying to get back at the media for the offseason.
He looks more annoyed and dejected than anything.

I will wait until a Giants team doctor says something.

I thought it was a sly reference, given the singer's last name.

Again, I thought it was an obvious joke. I will be sure to be more obvious next time, or just become better at making jokes.

Don't worry, he just doesn't have a sense of humor.

"Bonds said he was tired and disappointed following a winter in which he was accused of steroid use, his grand jury testimony was leaked and he had two knee operations. He blamed his troubles on the media. "

And why is his knee problem the media's fault. The other stuff I understand but this wording struck me as odd.

Did you forget that the media played Tonya Harding to his Nancy Kerrigan?!

As 1 Giants fan, I am not all that surprised or worried about this. I think plugging Feliz in Barry's spot, .280/25-30 HR/90-100 RBIs, isn't out of the range of what to expect. He's been tearing it up this Spring, and hit .276, 22 HR and 84 RBIs in 503 ABs last season.
Realistically Barry won't miss the entire season, the injury just isn't that severe to put him out 12 more months. I like the idea of the Giants sans Barry competing until July or so, seeing what they have and then a re-charged Barry coming back after the All-Star break perhaps and having fresh body and mind for the late season push.
