Crash, now league file broken
So I'm hoping someone can help me. Here's what happened: I was playing along in a fresh season, and the game prompted me to stop simming since I had an e-mail. I said yes, and it reported that it was preparing the all-star game, and may have said it was saving, when all the sudden I received a C++ Runtime Error. I said eek, allowed it to close, and then tried to start up the season again. It loaded remarkably quickly and took me to the standings screen, but when I click on my team (or anything that prompts it to read player data), the game crashes (no runtime error here, just the standard committed fatal error). Furthermore, none of the players are showing up in top statistics rating. Rebooting was no help. Other save games seem to be working fine, though I admit to being a little bit gunshy after this.
Is there any hope for this savegame? I fear that it may be completely lost. This is a season I just started (using holofan's rosters, plus all his player histories, etc), and I've done a fair bit of wheeling and dealing already since I just took over my poor Reds. So I'd really rather not start from scratch if I don't have to. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, B |

Doubtful this season can be used again UNLESS you have a backup copy.

I'd always reccommend backing up your league file by copy & pasting it to another folder. Do this as often as possible!

Well, that's not the answer I was hoping to hear, but I guess I'm not surprised. To be fair, I've been playing this game for years, and this is the first time I've ever had a league file get corrupted.
I normally do allow the league to back up each year. It's normally not going to be a big problem to restore from a backup midseason, but the first year I take over a franchise I usually make a whole bunch of trades and the like to get the team back on track. I guess I'll try to back up a bit more often from this point on, though... -B |

Did you have an off day before the all-star game?
I am not sure if this is still an issue, but I know the game used to crash if you didn't have an off-day before the AS game. That was quite awhile ago, not sure if it still happens. Obviously too late now, but for future reference. (If that was the problem) |
