There's gotta be someone on this board who can tell me how to delete a stadium from a league...

I've tried searching the forum, but all I found was a single-post thread. The single post was someone saying that there's gotta be a way he can delete a stadium...

It just seems weird that you can add a stadium in the Edit Ballpark screen, but there doesn't seem to be a way to delete it...

OOTP1? ScottVib? Russ Gload? Anyone?

You can always go to the graphics directory (I think) and delete the bmp file, although I don't think that will take the stadium off the list. I know that there are .dat files that control what stadiums are on the list, and I've got no idea how to edit those.

Did you check from the league setup screen as opposed to the team setup screen?

I know, I'm of minimal help here. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I tried going into the League Setup screen. I love the different options, but I'd rather have 20 stadiums in my league than 50.

I saw two .dat files in the league folder that probably hold the relevant info. I'm at work now, so I only remember one filename - "park.dat". The other one is something like "parkeffects.dat" or "parkstuff.dat" or "parkrussgload.dat". I can't rembember anything about the second file except the first four letters were "park".

There's gotta be a way...

Cool

IX,

Unfortunately, there is no way to "delete" a ballpark from the file. The definitions you enter are actaully kept in the "park.dat" file and althought you can redefine ballparks in that file, you cannot actually delete one.

You can, but I wouldn't recommend it, replace the park.dat file in your league with a copy of the one in your create file - but that would replace ALL your ballparks to the default ones. By the way, if you do want to do that, replace the parkcfg.dat file as well.

Someone here (wish I could remember - anyone help?) did write a stadium editor that allowed more options, but that was under V3 and I don't know if it would work in V4.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help - but I will see if I can locate that editor for you.

Henry

Awesome, thanks for the help, Henry.

BTW, the whole reason I'm asking is because I want to replace the stadiums in my 20-team fictional league with your 20 fictional stadium pictures, and not have to deal with the real-life MLB stadiums. Those pictures - and all the pictures on your site - are gorgeous. Well done!

Couldn't you fudge that by editing the stadium names to the names of the fictional stadiums and the path to the image to wherever you've got Henry's stadiums stored? You'd still have 10 extra stadiums, however its better than 30 extra :-)

Or am I missing something (since what you describe is something I'd like to try as well)?

BTW, I agree, Henry, the stadiums are gorgeous. Two comments, though. One, there are only pictures of 8 of the stadiums on the website, even though the download has all 20. Also, I noticed that FDR stadium is customized for the Yankees. I think it would be better to have all the stadiums generic.

Yeah, I could do that. I'm just being a neat freak... it would be nicer if I didn't have the other stadiums to contend with, but I certainly could work around them.

Cool

Joshu(a*6),
FDR was actually created by another OOTP-freako (LOL) and customized for his fictional team and provided to me for distribution. If you feel comfortable in MS Paint, it's not to tough to cover that logo with some grass
