Just saw my first ever triple play!

Wow.

I've probably played out 2 to 3 thousand games of OOTP since v4, and have never, ever seen a triple play. Had it not been for a few people here saying they'd seen them, I would have doubted they were even in the game.

And then, just now I was playing out a game in my solo league. It was a blowout, so I simmed ahead an inning at a time until the ninth. It was still a 10-3 game, but my practice is to always play out the ninth of such games so I don't miss anything good. Well, this time the first two hitters singled - one up the middle and one to right. Then the third guy up hit a liner which the first baseman speared, and I got "the runners are WAY too far off the base.... could be a triple play...."

Sure enough, it was - the first triple play I've ever seen in OOTP. Woo hoo!

Awesome. Still hoping to see one. Other rarities I've actually witnessed are robbed home runs (not that rare but eluded me for some time), a runner thrown out stretching a single into a double, and, IIRC a 2-1 double play.

I just saw my first catcher's interference.

Yeah, I don't manage much.

I do not manage enough to see a triple play. Hey I barely manage enough to see a play period.

If I remember correctly, I've seen one inside the park homerun. Version 4 maybe?

I'm jealous. You can probably imagine how many games I've played and have yet to see a triple play. I think Markus removed it in my copies of the game

I've never seen a triple play or an inside the parker. Then again I've probably played 15-20 games total since I first started playing OOTP. Which was version 4.

I play out all my games. This one might be too common- I saw it on consecutive hitters once. Have yet to see a triple play or inside the park homer. One unusual play I recall: on a tapper in front of the plate, catcher throws to first, hits the runner, runner is first ruled safe, then called out for leaving the basepath.

I have played about 7 full seasons and I've been the victim of 2 triple plays. I don't remember the scenario of the games though.

In my first game ever in OOTP, I saw a triple play and an inside the park homer. I have never seen a batter called out for leaving the base path or catcher's interference before.

I've now seen all of these plays except for an inside-the-park homer.

In playing out every game of an entire season I saw a pair of robbed home runs, assorted odd plays, and one brawl. I haven't seen an inside-the-parker yet, either.

I've never had the triple play, but I did get an inside-the-park game-winning grand slam once. Now that was cool.

I've never stolen home. Seen plenty of Catcher's Interference. The pbp annoucer says "weird" at the end of the play or something. Lost a game this year with 2 on down by a run and then a triple play happened. I think I have seen 3 or 4 in my 6 year career.

The most out-there thing I've ever seen in games I've played: 4 errors in one inning (from my team, of course).

3 errors by the same player in one inning (the 3B, who made 71 errors on the year.)

Two career ending injuries in one game, both pitchers, the starter in the 7th with one out, then the reliever that followed him right after by getting an out and ending his career.

I've also had 2 brawls in one game, but I don't think that's incredibly rare.

I've seen one tripleplay in about 9 seasons of playing every game.

I've also had two perfect games in that time span. One by Javier Vazquez and a 10 inning perfect game by Dave "the radar" Steves a fictional player.
