Hey guys, this is my first time trying to use catobase and im running into a little problem. While importing the stats i get an error message "There is a problem importing line 2 in the file \teams.csv. Open this file in notepad, uncheck word wrap(under edit). Examine the above line for odd characters, fix, and try again." I went to notepad and word wrap was already unchecked. I also tried turning word wrap on and running catobase but that didnt work either. There were also no errors or oddities that i could see on this line. The problem i think stems from the first line being too many characters and notepad is automatically wrapping it over to the second line. But i couldnt find any settings in notepad to allow more characters per line. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Seeing the line wrap is just a function of notepad. For me, fixing these files with notepad is near impossible. I would download a decent text editor and use it. You can find a bunch at download.com. UltraEdit is one I use.
A common problem with the teams.csv file is team abbreviations and team coach names. You want to make sure your abbreviations conform and make sure you don't have any quotes or commas in the names of the team coach or anything. If you can't find anything wrong, post your csv file somewhere with the error. Some folks are pretty good at finding what is wrong real fast. |

Make sure to post your findings as to this problem. I've had the exact same 'line 2 text wrap' problem with my league, and since I couldn't figure it out, I abandoned Catobase. If you figure out a workaround, plase let me know. Thanks.

Well i got a different text editor which was able to handle the amount of characters for the first line, however that still gave me the same error. I checked the file and all names were spelled fine and no commas where they shouldnt be. Could it be a problem that i didnt bother to put in names for the teams(meaning that Cleveland is just that...not Cleveland Indians)? Because of this there are a couple of columns with no information. I tried putting random names into the csv file for line 2 where everything was blank but that still didnt work. Any ideas?

well the problem has been solved. The problem was i was trying to use commishjoe's exporters and wasnt aware that catobase version 6.0 came with its own exporters. ironically i found that out in another thread you were helping someone with.
