Rocky Rapids Snappers logo needed
Need ROCKY RAPIDS SNAPPERS logo.
I really like this one I have been using, but would like ROCKY RAPIDS or "RR" added...I really like the turtle and the Snapper script. Use same Green and Blue colors...curve Rocky Rapids above the sample logo...or place an "R" on each side to the left and right...or place it where you think it looks best. Just make the lettering large enough to be seen on the game's midsized screens. Please create one of your own if you would like, too . I would love to see what you guys can do with it. Rocky Rapids is a small town of 45,000 in the middle of the Central Plains of Ruthlandia (named for Babe Ruth)...located on the vital Green River, which flows from the Appian Mountains in the north and almost splits the country in half...it begins in Upland, then goes south through Rocky Rapids...intersects with the east-west tributary, the Silver River, at Forest City, the country's capital and main commercial city...then meanders southward to Marston, West Bend, Sugar Valley and finally empties into the Southern Sea at Glasco. Rocky Rapids is a lumber and grain processing center and is a vital transportation community for the Central Plains vast grain fields that stretch from Wynnamac in the east and from Belle Plaine in the west...coal and lumber raw materials from Colfax in the northeast and from Upland in the north and Claxton in the northwest are shipped through Rocky Rapids...it is also the home of the Snappers of the Federal Baseball Association of Ruthlandia, who play at Snapper Stadium. Rocky Rapids was settled by the English and Scotch, hardworking people who love their baseball and especially the Snappers, who dominated the league in its first dozen seasons, winning four Federal Cup Series, symbolic of baseball supremacy in Ruthlandia, and playing in seven title series all total. The team is named the Snappers because of the financial importance of the river to the community. The snapper was chosen to be their mascot because it is a tough, tenacious river inhabitant, just like the citizens of Rocky Rapids. Here is the current one: Last edited by Eugene Church; 12-23-2005 at 02:18 PM. |

I'm working on curving the text over the curve EC, but the last S is in the way. At the moment, I'm not sure how to fix it, so here is what I have so far:

The circle logo (#2) is excellent...colors, font, setup...you really do extremely good circle logos...will show up well in the game.
This is a definite keeper. I really like the SNAPPERS script and would like to use it if possible. In the second one (#10), if it is not possible to curve Rocky Rapids around the top, consider just moving the Snappers and the turtle up higher and make room for an "R" on the left bottom and an "R" on the right bottom...or make them "RR" on each side...Just pick a font to match the SNAPPERS...and maybe enclose the "R" or "RR" in a baseball or badge emblem or banner...don't let my suggestions clutter it up and mess it up. You guys know what looks good. Add a Blue/Green frame or border around the entire finished logo. This is an historic day for me, I went into Paint and attempted to put some text just to give you some idea of what I meant...how do you think this would look?...of course, make the "RR" larger...I couldn't get a larger size to fit...and use a script font if it would look better...Sorry, couldn't line them up perfectly, either. Opinions and suggestions requested...which is better "RR" or "R"? Script letters or Block letters? Thanks for the logos. Last edited by Eugene Church; 12-23-2005 at 02:18 PM. |

Hey Eugene...
I've tried to keep the exact same flavour, although I recreated the diamond and the "snappers" text, and I managed to find the turtle on the net so used a fresh copy of him to clean up his colour a bit. Here he is in a circular logo ![]() (again, black will disappear in OOTP - although I haven't tested it as I don't have access to OOTP right now).

I felt there was a little too much "green" in the logo... so I made a couple alternates making the turtle a little more prominant, and removing the diamond.
The first, I felt, was now a little too white, so I added a baseball background. Personally, I really like alt2... but I've posted both for you to see...

Thanks Eugene.. btw - here are the updated logos for you.
I just realized that I used a black line around the inside circle - OOTP will make that line invisible. So I've lightened it up a bit so that doesn't happen.

Hey EC, in post number four, that first one I posted is close to what you were asking for. That was the best I could do with the S going over the end of the Rapids part.

knuckler, I liked your circle very much.
Thanks for spending the time on the curved one and the Double R. I think yours was better than my ideas. |
