FIBB looking for an owner

The Federation of International Baseball has an opening at the helm of the Auckland Warriors. The FIBB is writing league that requires owners to meet minimum participation levels each season in order to retain their team. The participation floor is easily achievable and nearly all owners meet this minimum every season. The high levels of participation (aka writing), board traffic, and good old smack talk that we generate make this one of the most active and intense leagues out there.

We are currently in the midst of our 2010 season. The league began in 2003 with Rocco's roster and a dispersal draft to 24 fictional teams in worldwide "baseball hotspots". We have since conducted two rounds of expansion, one before the 2007 season and the other prior to 2009. The Warriors are one of two teams that rounded out our league a little over a year ago. Despite being an expansion team Auckland has some nice young pieces in place to compete fairly quickly.

We employ the full compliment of OOTP6's new roster options including waivers, the 40 man roster, and the Rule 5 draft. We also add a few wrinkles of our own including allowing teams to generate a "local hero" each year who is a talented young prospect that is randomly generated by OOTP and by adding rewards that participation points can be used to purchase. The best thing about our league is our beloved commisioner mad0die, aka Joel. He's always on top of things and runs a tight ship. We rarely if ever have sim delays, let alone sims missed.

The FIBB is truly more than just a league and over the past year and a half has grown into a very close-knit community. If you'd like to get in on the action drop on by our forums, register, and take a look around. Thanks for reading.

Thanks, Draves. Don't forget that we have an arcade too. We really are a community in addition to an OOTP league. There are always people on the board and available to talk trade or whatever. The experience can be intense, but it is extremely rewarding.

FIBB is the most active league I've ever been in, with the best, most knowledgeable owners, and probably the most fun, as well. Although DRaven is a bastard, the rest of the league is great, and Joel is by far one of the most in-tune, pro-active commissioners I've ever seen.

If you're looking for a league where you can coast by just exporting once every two or three sims, this is not the league for you.

But if you want a league where everybody's going to read your team news, where creativity is encouraged, and where your need to comment on everyone else's thread is going to make you more friends than enemies, check out the FIBB.

By the way... this is NOT a good first league for someone. This is definitely a league where your experience will pay off.

Oh, and we have a brand new arcade!

My policy has always been that newbies are always welcome. Hell, we were all newbies at one point or another. You should have knowledge of how OOTP6 works though from a solo-player perspective. It is a steep learning curve to get involved in an intense online league with very competitive people if you do not have a working knowledge of OOTP and it's many new roster management features.

The FIBB is a premier OOTP league. Even if you aren't interested in a team, stop by and hang out, you will be glad you did.

Just don't beat my Burger Time score!

Looks like a very solid league. I've heard only good things about the FIBB from people I have talked to.

The FIBB is anticipating two teams openings up early next week. Join the messageboard now, fill out an app in the New Applicants forum and join the forum banter to give yourself the best shot at one of these teams.

I was in the FIBB for a very brief time(time constraints caught up with me), but if u have the time to write an article for ur team, and are looking for an active league with a great commish, committed GM's and a very avtive board, I'd highly reccommend the FIBB.

We have one opening now and it's the Sydney Roos (logo above). They won the Championship last season and are led by a dominant, 30 y.o. Albert Pujols and 28 y.o. SP Rich Harden .

If interested, please register for the forums and fill out the Q&A in the New Applications section. Thanks!

The FIBB is looking for a good applicant. We have one team coming open at the end of the current season (less than 2 weeks).
