Baseball Maelstrom
Generally, we haven't needed to draw off the forum, but many of the people on our unofficial waiting list have been there so long that they no longer have time for another league. So, that's where you step in.
The Baseball Maelstrom (link in my sig) has two openings. One is the Milwaukee Brewers with legend Robin Yount and the other is the Chicago Cubs with Ernie Banks. Neither team has had much playoff success, but the Brewers recently won 13 straight games in the Maelstrom Triple-elimination Tourney (after losing their 1st two) to have the chance to bring in a player from the team's history. WHAT WE PROVIDE: 1) One of the most stable leagues out there. We RARELY miss a sim and we've been around for 11 seasons and nearly 3 real years now. 2) A great mix of current, historical, and fictional players. The best of all worlds. The league is far enough into the future that we have plenty of fictional stars to compliment that historical legends and modern players. 3) A unique league experience. Each team has an untradeable legend. Two more legends enter the league each year. Teams that miss the playoffs still compete in the Tourney each year so all is not lost. We vote for our own awards and all-stars and play the major games live. We allow owners to put funds towards building stadiums and training players so they have less chance of injury. We also have a college league that funnels 15-20 players per season into the amateur draft. WHAT YOU PROVIDE: 1) Time and committment. The league has several special rules and features. If you are in a lot of other leagues you may be overwhelmed. We need someone that will have an adequate amount of time to give to the league. Our most successful owners rarely miss an export, always turn in their ballots and are in steady contact with other league members. That's it really. We're willing to take in online league veterans as well as newbies as long as they are willing to provide the above. The league probably isn't for everyone. Many all-stars in other leagues would be average players here where talents and ratings tend to be on the high side, but we have a solid group of die-hard owners who love the league the way it is. If you have interest and want to be considered, email management@baseballmaelstrom.com and tell us why we should pick you and which team you would prefer if you are chosen. Thanks and good luck!
