Here is one with two font choices. I should mention that in the game the black background will disappear so that the logo is just the text, diamond and roadrunner.

I've got something I was working on as well. If I get the time today to finish it, I'll post it up.

Ok, here's what I've been playing around with today. Nothing special, just a general, basic Roadrunners logo. Enjoy...

dbacks....those are bloody brilliant!!!
Either I've never seen your work before, or I haven't been paying attention. You do excellent work. I must now redouble my efforts to catch up to another designers level of excellence... Curse You!!! When will it ever end!?!?!?!

Haha, thanks FastLane.
![]() I'm not sure those above are my best stuff, but I think the reason you haven't seen my logos before is because the last several months, I've been extremely busy, and haven't been doing much graphic work. |

very nice work dbacks, I love that bird.
Although personally, I think that red symbol on the road sign in the back is a little distracting.

Me too.
![]() I wanted to incorporate the New mexico theme into it somehow, but I have second thoughts about it. It looks too plain without it, but it looks too busy with it. Needless to say, I posted the busy version (with the state flag symbol). |

Dbacks...
One way around that, as I think the road sign with the new mexico logo is a sweet idea, is to drop the "roadrunners" test just underneath the bird. That would make the sign a nice backdrop for the bird and unclutter the graphic a little. On top of that, if you went from a cursive font to perhaps a block-type font with flat top edges, you could gain the illusion of the bird running down the road...(along the top of the text)
Just throwing out suggestions....( I still think its a kickass design...)

I know I'm not a logo designer like you guys, but I just have to give an opinion:
The skill displayed in the Roadrunner logo is exceptional...dbacks can rival anybody that I have seen on this forum in the last two years...and he is getting better and better...However... dbacks, you are really talented and creative and have done many, many fine logos for me, but I think you are cluttering up your logos and creations. I do not think that the "faded out" look in the background adds anything to it but clutter...and it looks like smudges when they are resized for the OOTPB screens. When I look at it, I get the feeling that you erased your first attempt, but did not completely remove the old one, and just created another one on top of it. I think the best logos are ones that are simple in design, uncluttered, easy to read, have well-coordinated and good contrasting colors and fonts and create a mood or stir an emotion related to the theme of the logo. The Roadrunner logo has 95% of those elements...It is a fine one...with the one above reservation. You are still as good as they get when it comes to logos and banners and graphics. ![]() Here are a few of my favorites by dbacks: This is a beautiful logo done about 2 years ago...but very simple and basic...you'll have to scroll down to the Roanoke Robins...I have already posted it previously and the forum won't let me post it again for some reason. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ad.php?t=72640 This Marston Nine is fine, too...done in the last year...but very simple. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...chmentid=18262 And a few others...done two years ago. Awesome stuff Dbacks.
Reminds me a lot of the Edinburg Roadrunners of the Central League.

Well, I swear, I hadn't ever seen that logo until I just did a google search.
The idea actually started with the secondary logo, which I got from another logo (see below), and the idea for the primary came when my dad and I were driving up from Tucson last weekend on the I-10, and we had to put on the brakes to avoid hitting a roadrunner that was dumb enough to cross the highway (2 lane at the time) right in front of us. And then the Alternate came as a result of the Secondary combined with the Primary. I thought my idea of the road sign was actually kind of clever. Unfortunately, I guess it's not as originial as I thought it was. ![]() Oh well... Last edited by dbacks; 12-19-2004 at 11:24 AM. |
