Bazaar Decision!

George Dixon fought a 10 round draw with Young Griffo. What makes this outcome amazing is the fact that Griffo won only rounds 1, 2 and 9. The referee gave the other seven rounds to Dixon, the hometown favorite. This is TBCB version 1.8.0. Has anyone else had a strange decision like this?

Was the ref the sole arbiter?

So the ref, acting alone, scored seven rounds to three in favour of Dixon, but the fight was called a draw? Wow! That's a Twilight Zone moment for sure!

Yeah, I've had this happen a couple of times when simming a fight where just the referee scores the bout and using rounds. I reported it over in the Trouble-Shooting forum several months ago. I wonder if they're having trouble reproducing the bug. Either way, I just don't save the fight and refight it. It's annoying, but pretty rare from what I can see (It's happened to me twice in many simmed fights with just the ref scoring.)

I had George Dixon fight Young Griffo again and got the same results. The ref awarded Dixon 6 of the 10 rounds but the decision was a draw! What was more amazing, the punch count was in favor of Griffo in the majority of the rounds.

Hm, that's weird. I've had this game since it came out, I've simmed many ref only scoring fights using the rounds system as I attempt a recreation of boxing history, and you already matched the total number of times I've had something like this happen.

I wonder if the revamping if the changes to the scoring system messed up the Round or the Ref Only scoring more. Time for a test.

Ok, I did a little test. I autoscheduled 800 fights with the scoring system set to Rounds and the judging set to Referee Only.

389 fights went to a decision, 27 of them were incorrect (7%).

326 UDs were given out (I did not check these. I figured an incorrect UD decision would be impossible.)

44 fights ended in a draw, 8 of them incorrectly (The referee had one fighter winning but the result was a draw)

19 fights ended in a Split Decision (which shouldn't even be possible). Each time it went against the real winner. IOW, the Ref scored it, say, 8-7 for Fighter A, but then the result was announced Split Decision for Fighter B. Everytime it was when the final result had only a 1 point difference (8-7, 6-5, 7-6, etc.).

So it's getting time for patch "Final (b)".
I've found it, fixed it, and it's getting tested today.

Wow. I must say the TBCB team is really going for extreme realism here. I mean, they're trying to have as many final patches as the average boxer has retirements. Well done!

I'm impressed with the TBCB team for working on a minor mistake. I'm also impressed with the people in general on this message board. If you have a problem, usually get help and very quickly!!

Another patch Andreas? But all the doomsayers on this board said with the move to SI you'd be forced to work on OOTP and ignore TB. WTF can't you at least be considerate to all the Chicken Little's on this board and slack off some?

LOL - but the average boxer is not getting a better fighter after the retirements contrary to TB, which is getting better and better each time

Because I love TB

I'm working on OOTP which is absolutely a great chance for me and I don't want to mess that up - but I've got some free time in the evening

You better not mess OOTP up, or a lot of people will be looking to kick your ass

Great work on TB.

Bazarr Decision Again!

I had a 10 rd fight between Stanley Ketchel and Oakland Jimmy Duffy. It appared that Ketchel won almost every round with a lopsided punch count. The ref scored the bout 5 round each! The decision was a draw. I thought this problem was fixed.
