I need some info concerning the Merchandising Revenue feature of the game. I'm in a league (v4)where most teams are making about $18-21 Mill. per season in this catagory, while others are making 6,11, or 12 million. The game seems to carry this merchandising dollar amount over to the next season varying very little from season to season regardless of the teams record. Last season we were using OOTP3 and the Broadcasting money was different for each team and it seemed to make up for the low merc. rev. (low merc. higher TV money etc..) But after the conversion to OOTP4 the game has made all TV money equal for every team but left the merc. rev. the same leaving a a big money gap in the teams. Should all teams be set to the same amount to make the league fair?
What are the long term effects if this is done? |

I think the big first question is whether you want the league to be fair, that is, far more fair than MLB. If you want TB to have the same budget as Bos, then of course you would have to set everything even, including market size, loyalty, fan interest, and even stadium size.
If you are playing a MLB-based league, and want to keep the finances fairly realistic, you should allow for the budget differences. However, be warned that b/c of a bug, when you did the transfer to v.4, it screwed around with all the numbers. This is partially b/c the ticket prices are higher in v.4. I had to deal with all this as a commish. Here's the explanation of my fix to the league: http://pub39.ezboard.com/ffastbaseballleaguefrm7.showMessage?topicID=31.top ic
