The Offense wasn't dominant, but...

the Vikings defense stepped up. Yes, I'm a true Vikings fan. Moss was out so it ook away our deep threat, Culpepper was patient enough though and did not force anything. A. Wnifield is finally playing up to what he is supposed to, K Williams knocked Steve out. Our defense did good. Anyone think it will be Eagles and Vikings in the NFC Championship game? I do. Than they win and face the Pats.

It sounds like Tice will not let Bennett back into the starting spot without Bennett earning it. Tice said something along the lines of, "Why try something new when what you have isn't broken." The offense with Moore/Smith has been rolling along quite nicely.

I think Tice is making the wrong move here for a number of reasons.

1. Bennett has breakaway speed. Moore or Smith don't.
2. The success of Smith and Moore are greatly reliant on the OLine of the Vikings.
3. Bennett was a first rounder. That's going to cause a ruckus in the Minnesota Media. Doesn't really bother me. The best should play, period.

I do believe that no matter what, Bennett is our best bet.

We'll see what happens though.

Well if Bennet does good in the carries he gets, he will become the #1 back again. We have 4 very good RBs, nothing to worry here. I'm hoping Moss plays though.

Yes the defense looked good finally but it should be remembered that some guy named Billy Volek played most of the game at QB instead of that other guy Steve McNair who is a tad better.

Are the Vikings becoming the new Broncos when it comes to a running game? Are these running backs all really that good or is it just that the offensive line is filled with purple-clad monsters?

Like I said in my previous post, I think the OLine has quite a bit to do with it.

I dunno though, bennets been a burner. smith was 1st round talent but had off field issues(drugs maybe???). moe williams is simply a big tough mike alstott type. its not like they're turning 6th rounders into stars, rather they're willing to take risks(moss, smith)

You dont think the media would go buck wild if they put in bennett and he had 2 fumbles and averaged 2 yards per carry?

Yes, but I think you have to give him a majority of the touches in his first full game back.

I'm actually pleased that Bennett isn't getting many carries, I'd rather see Smith and Moore getting them. Bennett has breakaway spped, but unless he breaks one, he usually gets 1,2, myabe 3 yards a carry, then every once in a while he'll break one. I like consistency.
