Darryl had an excellent year compared to last year's, hit one deep or strike out campaign.

His season win-loss record was hurt badly by how terrible the mets are. they finished in last place in the lowly NL east.

I think he had a very good year # wise but how the weak the hitting was killed him, it was so bad Strawberry the three hole hitter knocked in 75 and in all the games he started he never was out of the three hole.

1985 was the 24 year old's best season yet. His first all star apperance was as the CF starter. But in the end the Mets finish last, even after the 13 1\2 million dollar singing of Bob Welch.

Strawberry's 1986 season was another all-star appearance for the youngster. He got the start in CF and went 1-3 and got caught stealing.

He singed a 3 year extension to stay with the Mets worth 5,985,000.

The Mets finished in 4th place on the year thanks in big part to Darryl.

Note: Dwight gooden spent 5 months in AAA with a 3.94 Era and got a call-up and went 4-1 with a 4.25 era
