Late October Update

Hello, the few, the proud and the brave!

Just a word on what's transpiring here. The patch was released pretty close to the expected date and we have since done a bit more tweaking in recent weeks. The balance in many of the areas is very delicate and it doesn't take much to upset it and force more changes. Scoring, for example, will differ dramatically if you use rated judges. If all the judges are generic and "see things much the same way", scores are going to be more uniform that not.

Many of you are doing fine work for us, either intentionally or unintentionally. The comments on the boards, the "advertising" a few of you are doing, the explanations to newcomers are all excellent and beneficial. I am very grateful, as are all the others involved with the game.

We will be making another big marketing push when we release TBCB2. I am not at liberty to give even a ballpark date, but we are working diligently on a goodly number of improvements.

Our overall goal in TBCB2 is to provide the gamer with even more flexibility than before and to once again address the accuracy by more sophisticated programming:

1) The cut routine changes will be dramatic (as discussed in length before).

2) The between rounds routine will also have a new look along with more information and functionality.

3) The foul system will undergo a change that will be as comprehensive as the cut routines. Certain fouls will actually benefit the fighter committing the foul!

4) A goodly number of changes will be made to increase intuitiveness of use and ease of use: drop-down calendars where dates are concerned, could be an addition, for one thing. The ability to select multiple fighters to delete, copy or assign to other groups might be another.

These are just teasers to give you some idea about our direction. Of course, we are still working on TBCB2 in conjunction with the role-playing game so there will definitely be continuity between the products.

And once again, I will reiterate that there will be an upgrade price to TBCB2 that should make everyone happy.

Right now, Title Bout is receiving priority treatement from OOTP and all elements are on a fast track.

Take care and thank you all again for your support!

Jim

That would be a huge help for those of us running large universes.

Great news Jim! The drop down would make working with dates much better.
Is it possible that we could get back the ability to import and export a complete database so we can sort (or adjust) our fighters more easily?
Oh! And maybe a year(s) piece of info with the name to identify the .TBDX files.

Thanks for your great work!

I know This is not the Place or the time to ask this, but jim How is TBCBRP version coming this is the game That I want, and also have you giving Height/Weight Any thought as a new addition to the game? Because I think if you have a guy thats rated 10 Like a mayorga and then a guy who is a 7 but who is 6'4 Like a lopez (david Lopez MW with a great jab record 26-10 but won his last 10 fights and a couple of upsets) I think Lopez Height/ reach will beat someone like mayorga who he can frustrate with his jab and and his 6'4 frame. Anywho have you given any thought to the Height/weight/reach factors? Because it would be cool to see a james toney come in vs. A klitsko at 223 and then come in vs. a bum at 240 to show his lack of traing, lol.

Database

I love this idea, something that would help greatly with universes would be the capability to store an excel Database, similar to Lahmans for OOTP and then, as each calendar year begins have the game import all fighters into your universe from that Database, that debuted that year in real life. I know this is something probably geared more to the Role play version but it would definitely be cool if it were somehow possible in TBCB 2. Regardless I know this product will provide me with many hours of enjoyment as all your games have. We have 3 more weeks left in our Season as we will not make the playoffs this year, and the only redeeming factor to a disappointing Season will be more time with my Wife and more time with TBCB when it ends

You sure like the word "goodly" don't you? You use it a goodly amount.

Any explanation on how the upgrade price thing will work?

Definitely. The ability to copy, delete or move multiple fighters would make life much easier. The game has come a long way since it's beginning on the PC.

Good job.
