Confused about Catobase use
This is the first time I have ever used Catobase since I just finished my first league. I have read the instructions but still am confused.
Here is what I understand; *Be sure every team has a unique three letter abbreviation within the game. *Set up a folder for your league export. *Under league-->Online League Setup make your destination folder the folder you just set up for your league export. *Generate report. (player pages, box scores, and game logs do not matter) *Open up Catobase. *Under file, choose "new" and use your league name to set up a blank database. Here is where I get confused: Now choose file-->options and change the league directory to whereever you have the end-of-the-year league file. You can either type this in, or you can use the folder icon on the right to navigage to that .lg folder. *Next change the Game HTML files to whereever you put the league export (back when we started). Once gain, you can type this in, or use the folder icon. OK, once I open Catobase I go to *file* > options > Now here is where I get confused. One says League Dictionary. I am assuming that this is where I have my league setup at in the OOTP folder (for example MLB.lg). The other says *data dictionary*. Where is this folder located at? This is where I got lost and I messed everything up. Also, one more thing....while Catobase was generating players pics it said there was a bad file and I noticed that there were only a few player pics that were in the player folder (for catobase). Am I supposed to copy & paste these player photos into the folder where I generated it from OOTP6? I hope I made sense. Thank you. |

First question, are you using the latest version(6.14) of Cato? If you are, you do not need to export anything from inside ootp.

What I do is I make a directory within my league folder called "history". This is where I save my cato database file(.mdb). Also within this folder I create another directory called "data". This is the folder that Cato will export data too. Again in the "history" folder, I create another directory called "website". This is where I tell Cato to export the webpages. Oh and for good measure, I have yet another folder called "yearly backups", this is where I stick all the zip files of my season backups. So on the Input tab under options: League directory: C:\..... myleague.lg Data directory: C:\..... myleague.lg\history\data On the output tab: Web Page directory: C:\... myleague.lg\history\website

Yes, I am using version 6.14. So I dont need to go through the first few stepes then;
*Under league-->Online League Setup make your destination folder the folder you just set up for your league export. *Generate report. (player pages, box scores, and game logs do not matter) Is this correct? Thanks for the help.
