NFL Top 3
Here they are...
1. New England Patriots: New England is truly and dynasty and coming off a win against another powerhouse shows they are ready to defend their title. They get a relative bye this week against the Cards. Prediction: Pats 27, Cards 7 The Cards have no rushing game and the passing attack will struggle, the Pats D will continue to force turnovers. 2. Denver Broncos: A very controversial number two team, but they beat another top team at home. Everyone knows the Broncos can win at home but will they be able to bring the same intensity to the road games? The game at Jacksonville will certainly be a good incator. Prediction: Broncos 27, Jaguars 6 The Broncos will show they can play some defense too in this one. The Jags just don't have the firepower on offense to compete with Denver. 3. Minnesota Vikings: Destroyed a Dallas Cowboy team that went 10-6 last year. They scored 35 points on the number one defense from last year, what more can you ask for? How about some defense, they let Testeverde throw for 350+ yards. This week they will meet the other NFC powerhouse, Philadelphia. Prediction: Eagles 28, Vikings 24 I know what you're saying...Why aren't the Eagles ranked higher if they will be the Vikes? Homefield advantage is simply huge in the NFL, more so than any other sport and the Eagles capitalize at Lincoln Financial Stadium.

My Top 3 would be NE, Philadelphia and Green Bay.

I don't see how ANY NFC team even compares with the top AFC teams.
New England, Tennessee, Indianapolis, Denver, and possibly even Kansas City are all equal to or better than the very best NFC team (Philly? Their defense is not so great this year - they did give up a lot of points to the Giants.) |

1. Vikings
2. Patriots 3. Kansas City Sure, I'm a little biased, but I honestly think the pieces are in place for the Vikings to win it all. The offense is there, they have, IMO, the best QB in the NFL, the best WR in the NFL, one of, if not the best offensive lines in the NFL, and great depth at RB. Their defense sucked last year, but they made many improvements. They brouhgt in Ted Cottrell. They drafted Kenechi Udeze, who has the chance to be a real good pass rusher. Kevin Williams is a year older, and he is already creeping up on the list of best DL in the NFL. Last year their linebackers were slow and old. They replaced Biekert with EJ Henderson, and drafted DonTarrious Thomas, an OLB with sub 4.6 speed. Their secondary sucked last year, this year they have Antoine Winfield, a good cover corner and great tackler. Brian Williams is a year older and a year better. Chavous is one of the best safeties in the NFL. Their offense is one of the top 2 in the NFL IMO, along with KC, and their defense will be just good enough, I think.

Should be a real shootout here in Philly this weekend. Two high-powered offenses going up against two suspect defenses.

I think Jake Plummer would bump Denver down some. KC would be #3 IMO with Philly #2 and Minn #4. Denver is pretty solid so probably #5.

I'd have to go with the 49ers at number one. Nobody can compare to the Montana-Rice combo through the air. And with Roger Craig running behind Tom Rathman, it could be a long year for opposing defensive lines.
At number two, I'll go with the Houston Oilers. Warren Moon is this era's Kurt Warner. He can read defenses in an instant and he does an outstanding job of spreading the ball around. And he sure has some talent to spread it to! Expect a big year from Haywood Jeffries, Curtis Duncan, and Ernie Givens. At third, I'd say the Bengals can make some things happen. With Boomer and Icky, they have two of the best players at the two most important positions. And they have cool names to boot. And with Anthony Munoz anchoring the o-line, you can expect that Boomer's back side will be protected and Icky should be able to scamper off-tackle at will. |

I think it's funny that people are listing Green Bay in the top 3. A team that's 21st in the league in total offense and 15th in total defense. Not to mention they don't have a QB, HB, WR or defensive player in the top 5 in passing, rushing, receiving or sacks. Brett Favre only threw for 143 yards and 1 TD in the first week. Ahman Green had 119 yards and 2 TD's but only averaged 3.6 yards per carry. Their top WR in week 1 was Donald Driver who had 3 receptions for 39 yards.
And that's not even getting into their defense. But yeah, they're definitely one of the top 3 teams in the NFL. |

What else are we supposed to judge the best 3 teams of this season on? I didn't get the impression this was of all time or of the past combined season with this one. It said best 3 teams in the NFL, so are you going to use stats from last season to back up your argument when the teams aren't even the same as last year?
