Facepack problem
I've downloaded several facepacks this evening and they don't show up in game. They are all Tiger Fan facepacks, which are already in .bmp format, and I've used WINRAR to extract them to the PHOTOS folder of my league. I've gone into "my computer" and verified that the players photos are indeed in the PHOTOS folder.
When I go into the game, and enable photos, I get a blank picture area with the message: File not found: p589.bmp The above example is for Ty Cobb from the 1905 facepack set. The photo is correctly named Ty_Cobb in the facepack. I've even tried renaming it p589, but I get the same error message. Has this happened to anyone alse, and does anyone have any ideas on what I could try next?

The operating system should automatically add the file type. Even having just said that, I did change the name to a .bmp file, (I actually tried with and without the.bmp on several different files,) but I received the same message.

Are you sure the photos aren't in a subfolder (say photos>photos)?

Unfortunately, they weren't put in a subfolder. The full path is :
c:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP6\Major League Baseball.lg\PHOTOS I even tried switching the name (e.g. Cobb_Ty), but no luck.

Is it the higher end bitmap format??
I had some problems with 16 bitmap...and when I changed them to 256 or 24...they showed up Other than the other suggestions, these are the ONLY problems that it COULD be.. 1) wrong folder 2) not a bitmap or named incorrectly 3) low end bitmap attach one of these photos maybe winRAR did something to them |

EDIT: After reading the above post, this stirs a memory. I think I remember someone mentioning problems when they used winrar to unzip the files. Do you have winzip?

I'm aware of the .bmp.bmp problem, I was just willing to try anything. I've changed the file names back to what they're supposed to be.
Thanks for the info about winrar. I've never had problems with it before. I had to get it because some of the mods for Morrowind were rar compressed. I'll download winzip right now, and report back.

Well, I tried winzip and got the same problem I had with winrar, so that's not the problem.
It seems I've reached the limits of my computer knowledge, (or lack thereof). Following up on Carlton's suggestion, I'm not familiar with with the different levels of bitmapping. I'm not certain what 16 bit map means. (I saw the '24' you mentioned under the advanced properties as having a bit depth of 24, but was unable to change it so I doubt that this is what you meant.) Where do I find this information, and how do I change it? Secondly, what do I need to do to attach one of the photos?

I'd like to thank everyone for their help. I deleted my league, started a new league, extracted the facepack files exactly like before, and this time they work. Go figure...
